It was a neat video but all the comments that appeared on the screen were pure fiction. At max, 900 meters. You can't fool someone when your firing a tracer round. You can hear the shot and count to see how long it takes for the round to get to the target. A mile long shot takes over 4 and a half seconds in flight. You can't measure land distance when firing from one hilltop to another. Still a neat video though.
Dude just stop. Max muzzel velocity on a 50 is 2800 fps. Never argue with a weapons expert. The only round that can travel at 4000 fps is a supersonic round and cannot be fired out of a 50 barrel. A 120mm Sabot Depleted Uranium Kinetic Round can be fired at that velocity, not a 50. To have a round fire that fast you need a load capable of producing a gas velocity of 10,000 fps. So you would need a 20mm casing with a 50 cal. bullet to create a supersonic 50 round. Only a DU rnd. can pierce armor
Nope. To get a 50 round to that high of velocity you still need a 20mm casing to push it to supersonic. Like I said, it's neat, not super-fantastic. You don't have DU rounds to penetrate armor. Yes sir, our very own dependable .51 rounds. The extra .01 fits tighter in the barrel and gives the bullet a much more controlled flight. We're hoping to do 2 inch groupings from 4KM!!!!!

However, Flyingeagle is also correct. A standard 50. (Ball ammuntion or FMJ), would NOT pass through the armour. Instead we can use SLAP rounds or and equivalent. Or, using an FMJ; hit the tank in the collar.

The targets and tanks are strategically placed at distances for various calibers. Remember the tracers we used travel at around 4000fps!!!
