@awkgah the two tones and blue light emergency equipment are used under extreme care,, for all you know it could of been an officer requires immediate assistance hence the speed and emergency warning equipment activated.. hence every available car drops what they are doing and heads to assist.. if they get the call to stand down then they do.. blues and twos are not used lightly ..

If you are involved in a collision (POLCOL) then you are usually suspended from driving until the case is heard and it is determined to be your fault, or an unfortunate result of the pursuit, and totally unavoidable. A friend of mine was a trained pursuit driver, overcooked it on a bend, understeered into a brick wall and after the hearing, got suspended, as they said he should have known better. He was in a pursuit, but it didn't matter. He had to pay consequences of his actions.

These cars are not fitted with a kit, they are stripped down completely by a company called "special vehicle preperations" they have a complete rebuild from the ground upwards, no expense is spared, as these cars have to be 100% reliable. it is not just a case of sticking a few spoilers on and tweeking the engine. everything from tyres, brakes, engine, geerbox, etc, etc has to be be completely replaced with the highest spec parts. No expenses is spared, because the tax-payer is paying for it.
What a ridiculous waste of money, these cars must cost over £100k each, by the time they have had all the high tech equipment fitted, yet another case of "overkill" it's a miracle no pedestrians were killed here!
