I agree with your concept of the magic returning. That would be nice. And another fact about the game: You remember in Phantom Hourglass how you kept going to the Temple of the Ocean King? You have to do something like that in the Spirit Tracks game, although, it is called the Tower of Spirits. And that whirlwind item gets old after a while... a short while. There are a lot more cooler things in the game than the whirlwind, like the whip and the sand wand.

The setup in this game is almost exactly the same as phantom hourglass: theres 4 temples and a place u go back to after each one.

Somehow I feel the creators wanted to emulate Ocarina of Time to an extent, the woods, the flute, etc. I like Spirit Tracks better than Hourglass.

Well, he is the hero of time, but the Alternate Link is. This is the other 'Link', which means this one isn't technically the hero of time. So what i don't get is, if Linebeck's Grandson, or nephew *or whoever he is* is the Train owner, then how can the same link be with him?
thats great that they're branching out a little bit but in case u didn't know already right near the beginning zelda actually dies!!!!!! big shocker for me too. but don't worry because her spirit is actually what allows you to control the phantoms by possessing them and as far as i know you're supossed to try and bring her back to life while trying to keep an anchient creature that is imprisoned under Hyrule from emerging.
I think the phantom IS the train. They have the same color scheme, and the phantom is never seen on ther train, PLUS the phantom seems to have some connection with the whistle.
Ive heard recently that there is an exploration factor to this game and at some point you can create your own tracks. Oh and dont forgot that by going to new areas in your train is exploring.
I love all 3D Zelda games equally, but I think Majora's Mask had the best gimmick. And it wasn't just one gimmick. The 3 day cycle, a lot of depth with interacting with npcs in real time during those 3 days, a bunch of masks that give various effects and 3 to 5 transformations. (depending on if you consider giant or fierce deity link part of em)
You don't have to complete the game in just 1 3-day cycle, you can but its really hard it has to be a super speed run. Whenever you get what you want and you need more time, you travel back in time to the first day.

Just think. In most zelda games the title explains the main item you will be using in the game (phantom hourglass, ocarina of time, wind waker, minish cap, and so on). It would be nice if the wistle thing acts like the ocarina. So you could tap the icon then have the wistle in front of you and you can tap the holes to make music.

It should be controled by the game itself, that he fights by himself and no to draw a line to make it move...=S I think that's annoying.. Your mixing up the potion slots with the item slots. There were 7 item slots and 2 potions lots which look similar.
