  • woa it's a hounderman.

  • The dog is treating the baby as if she were her puppy. What's not to love about a doberman. I want one.

  • It is a joy to have Xena in our family! In saying that Xena is trained (ongoing), regularly exercised and gets a lot of attention and play. We spent some time preparing her for Imogen and it has paid off big time (as we have and continue to do with Imogen). Nothing really changed for Xena when Imogen arrived. In fact if you asked Xena, she would say it got 100% better, more fun, love, cuddles, walks, family time!!! Thanx for all your comments!

  • I got bit by a Dobberman, but the poor dog had never been shown love. When we rescued her she thought my hand was coming in to smack her, not to give her a pet. I'd trust a properly trained and treated doberman with my own life.

However, I'm a standard poodle owner, so.. :P

  • How Adorable!

  • i'm terrified of dobermans but videos like this are slowly changing my mind

  • What these people are doing is awesome! This is a great way to introduce the new addition to the pack. I feel bad for anybody who would try anything harmful to that baby, with the dobe around.

  • why people are scared of them. yeah sure if the owner is idiot the dog will reflect him, but the true is these dogs will take a bullet for you. love dobermans and cant wait to have one!

  • @unityspirit52 Oh goodness forbid you actually READ what I posted up. Did you even know one of the most prone breeds to bite is the Jack Russell Terrier? You probably also didn't know that the Staffordshire was bred as a companion dog. Nearly 100 years ago they were, and STILL are called nanny dogs by the english. You probably also know that most bites happen because parents leave their children unattended, already a big mistake on the PARENTS.

  • "didja git liicked?" dad's voice is funny (cute)

  • @unityspirit52 Awesome...and they are baby sitters. Have to own one to know them...simple...like you said :)

  • I would trust my Doberman with my children more than I would most people. They are the most loving and protective dogs anyone can own. If you ever own one you are a lucky person for have doing so! They are your best friend and always have your back! When my kids were young they used to crawl all over my Dobe and he would just lay there and lick and play with them. They are true to their family.

  • @euchreman I WOULD TO!!! Your words ring 100% with us. She is a second mum to all the kids, cat and us! But highly protective. Yet she knows if you are a DHead, a stranger or trouble and will watch you (even at family parties). Will even tell me!! Adores kids, loves to play and is gentle as, u can do anything to her! Unbelievable dogs :)

  • @xenadoberman They are so great! I miss mine and can't wait to have another dobe. I never thought I could find a breed I would love but I did. One of the best dogs ever created!

  • @xenadoberman sure it's safe if you know your dog well. But i wouldnt let my baby being licked by the dog. Althought the dog's mouth is quite bacteria freee, there is still the chance for transmitting parasites and certain yeasts to the baby.

  • I understand all these baby and big dog videos are trying to break the stereotype of certain dog breeds. But seriously, the parents of these children would feel pretty bad if one of these dogs bit the child. All in the name of trying to prove that these dogs are really sweet.

"No really they are! I can prove it! (dog bites kid's head off) AHHHHH!"

I wouldn't even put my infant this close to a cocker spaniel. My kids are too precious. Dangerous parenting right there.

  • @aannnneejj You're one of the pussies that lives in this world....grow the fuck up

  • You know, a dogs mouth is cleaner than a humans so its no big deal if they are licked

  • @gigglegirl788 Yeah... Tested a number of dogs' mouths when I was in University, not as true as you think.

  • @kelevra216 so,are they cleaner than human mouth or not

  • you named your child imogen...?

  • awsome guys!

  • I love it when ignorant people always bash owners about how dangerous it is to have their children around dobermans and bull terriers and german shepherd dogs. If anything they should be more concerned about Jack Russell Terriers, dachshunds, and chihuahuas around children.

  • @Ttran778 Honestly, I feel safer having my little cousins near my PitBull rather than my grandma's Chihuahua! That Chihuahua is EVIL!

  • @Ttran778

    So true.

  • @Ttran778 chihuanhuas.... damn beaner dogs

  • @Ttran778 Dogs are really loving and social creatures. How you raise them is all that matters...

  • @Ttran778 Very true, that smaller ones can very well be more vicious than the bigger ones. It's all in how they are raised

  • and its sensitized

  • they're australian

  • @kimmois1 What a joke comment! You obviously no nothing about the breed at all or any of the background. But "idiots" like yourself often make comments knowing this, just venting and then justifying with examples that could be given for any "unruly" dog in a family situation (who doesn't train their dog). I'm not even going to waste my time any further on such a stupid, unjustified comment. You must be envious!

  • Thanks scarijeri. Imogen and Xena are now best mates. The bond is amazing. AND Xena adores small children, it's just her nature and the way she has been brought up. She is very gentle and nurturing and you can see she adores them, simple.

  • Thanks scarijeri. Imogen and Xena are now best mates. The bond is amazing.

  • I love vids like these! People always like to make comments about how it's to "unpredictable" or dangerous, I have a mini pincer/german shep mix and she's my kids 2nd mom! She satys at the baby gates to watch them all day, if one falls, she uses her head to push them back to their feet, she stands on the edge of the tub to make sure they are ok during baths, and kisses them everytime they are sad! Dont judge a dog that you dont personally know guys!

  • i most ask, WHY are all so worry abot that dogs liks small children? i have notist that on meny vidos?

  • @lillenkill americans.. they are so sensitised

  • I think it's great that you're allowing your new born to bond with your dog and vice versa; however, if you want the bond to happen, then you must allow the dog to lick your baby.... I know it doesn't sound sane, but it doesn't pose any harm to your baby! :)

  • @lindakaldani

Thanks and don't worry this is encouraged and maintained, it's just Xena is a "licker" if you know what I mean...lol. They share many a kiss and xena bathes (cleans) her as often as she is "allowed". They share an incredibly special bond.

  • actually what the owners did was perfect... climatising the dog to their baby from an early as so that the dog knows how to behave around the child...

  • lol - the baby looks so content!! I hear babys growing up around dogs tend to form an incredible bond with them : notice anything like that with Xena?

  • @sloan1919 Is this a joke? What a stupid comment!

  • @cyrex94 u obviously know nothing about Dobermans

  • @xenadoberman maybe not, but what i read in the papers and the selfish attitude of dog owners and I do know about babies being unpredictable....just too much of a risk in my book

  • Well I haven't heard much about Dobermans specifically, rotties and others yes.. I agree about many owners being idiots of all types of dogs. Dobermans are similar to Labs with their families. They are extremely gently, loving and nurturing. The most damage Xena could do is lick Imogen too much.

  • Xena even knows Imogen is a toddler and modifies her behaviour around her!! However, in our case they are ALWAYS supervised. Xena even knows Imogen is a toddler and modifies her behaviour around her!! However, in our case they are ALWAYS supervised.

  • @xenadoberman you don't have time to react if that dog desides to ''go mental''...I'm not saying this dog is one of the few, but dogs and humans can snap, as a result of a physical problem or mental...nothing wrong with this, just writing the facts :)

  • @Neverheat "just writing the facts." It's clear you haven't a clue what you're talking about. Yes, children and dogs together should always be supervised. Mainly for the protection of the dog. A well socialized Doberman is predictable and reliable. Kids on the other hand are not and can provoke a dog and not understand warning signs - which is why supervision is always advisable. A Doberman is part of the family and there is virtually no risk at all.

  • @NonProphetGod All I need to know, that human and animals can go crazy, with no actual reason...All I wrote, that the owner of this dog does not have time to react, if something happens...

  • @cyrex94 Do you go out in public with head protection? I certainly hope so!

  • @HeMadeMeDoIt and do you go out in public at all

    I certainly hope you don't :)

  • @cyrex94 this doberman clearly was brought up well and shows clear signs that shes not a threat to the child infact anyone that owns a dog can tell that she loves the child !! when a dog is aggressive its due to bad ownership not a bad dog and this dobie shows signs of being brought up in a loving home .. so good parenting !!

  • @nikkienik wow someone on here who does not cuss and swear when trying to get a point across - thank you

  • @cyrex94 not bad parents at all! If that dog had bad tendancies there would be no way in hell they would let their daughter be that close. When I was a baby we had a Dalmatian that thought I was it's pup. Same thing as this. I was never hurt, never in danger.

  • How do you pronounce your daughters name? I love Imogen Heap the musician and Ive never been sure how its said. Thanks! and adorable vid! :)

  • @l8rdayzchickie It's pronounced like EMOJIN (like emo and jin)

  • @pedi007 and we pronounce her name IM-O-JIN

  • i find it so funny and so annoying when parents do the baby voice, i mean its not like the kids going to notice the difference:)..but i get it, its human nature.. Really cute video:)

  • so0o0oo sweet :)

  • THATS ONE STUNNING DOG YOUR.. LITTLE ONE WILL HAVE A (GUARDIAN- ANGEL) FOR LIFE WELL DONE MY FRIEND.. well done.. wildland firefighter iain younger UK

  • Good job on training!

  • Thanks, she naturally took to her but loves to lick her.
