I remember when I was in third grade we had to do a book report. We could choose any book the teacher had. I was the last person to pick a book. And low and behold Harry potter book one and some otherbook was on the shelf. I picked Harry Potter. And I have to think that was the best choice I have ever made in my entire life. @kateclaudia I don't know if there would be in Australia but I don't see why not! If you get a chance definitely go. For the last movie we got there about three hours before midnight but we weren't bored (I was there with two friends). There were some people dressed up, but more people did that for the book release than the movie. At one point before the movie started, two guys stood in front of the screen and had an epic 'wizard duel' and one person read some pages from the book. :)

When I read the books (for the first of many times :) ) I was young but we couldn't afford the internet so I just had no IDEA that any of these parties happened or they had midnight releases for books and movies and people dressed up because I just didn't know how big the HP fandom actually was!

@DrFrank1e I checked too, but it was actually the sequel that was unfinished. I think it was called reading between the lines, it was about this girl that found herself in the HP world but she accidentally screwed things up and prevented the books from ever being written, so in the sequel she was supposed to try and fix that.

It's a character in fan fiction without any flaws at all. It's usually a bad female author putting herself in a story without giving herself any flaws. They're usually the center of attention and all character love them for no good reason.
Mary-sue is a fanfiction refrence. It's when a new character is introduced to the previously igisting plot of Hary potter with no explinasion. Usually this is followed with the character being either A: All powerful, B: Every cannon (Character writen by original author) character falls in love with them, or a combination of the two. It is the bane of all fanfiction readers.
Lol, there should be a page with all these references. I was there for some of this but not others. It's all so amazing though. The HP fandom ride has been an amazing rollercoaster.

I sticked around the Brazilian fandom for the most part, but the repercusions were the same, and I started to follow the fandom as a whole after OotP. So much wank and so much fun. Years of my life spent in forums and fanfics, and I still don't regret it.

@kateclaudia I don't know if there would be in Australia but I don't see why not! If you get a chance definitely go. For the last movie we got there about three hours before midnight but we weren't bored (I was there with two friends). There were some people dressed up, but more people did that for the book release than the movie. At one point before the movie started, two guys stood in front of the screen and had an epic 'wizard duel' and one person read some pages from the book. :)

When I read the books (for the first of many times :) ) I was young but we couldn't afford the internet so I just had no IDEA that any of these parties happened or they had midnight releases for books and movies and people dressed up because I just didn't know how big the HP fandom actually was!

@LikeSoTotallyRandom I read fanfiction every single day of my life, so even though I know everything about the real books, I can't stop wondering "what will happen". It never is as good as the real story, but sometimes I can fall in love with fanfiction plots so much that I almost forget Harry Potter is over.

@DrFrank1e I don't read much fanfiction, because once I found this AMAZING HP fanfic that was actually really great, and one day the author went mysteriously MIA... it was years ago but I still remember that story better than some real books, and the writer never updated or even left a note on their profile. :(

@DrFrank1e I checked too, but it was actually the sequel that was unfinished. I think it was called reading between the lines, it was about this girl that found herself in the HP world but she accidentally screwed things up and prevented the books from ever being written, so in the sequel she was supposed to try and fix that.

I just found this video and it's really interesting! I began reading the books when I was in 3rd grade and have been invested in the fandom ever since. It's a character in fan fiction without any flaws at all. It's usually a bad female author putting herself in a story without giving herself any flaws. They're usually the center of attention and all character love them for no good reason.

Mary-sue is a fanfiction refrence. It's when a new character is introduced to the previously igisting plot of Hary potter with no explinasion. Usually this is followed with the character being either A: All powerful, B: Every cannon (Character writen by original author) character falls in love with them, or a combination of the two. It is the bane of all fanfiction readers.

Yessss definitely!! I'm naming all my pets after my favorite Harry Potter characters (I want a dog so bad to name after my favoritee- Padfoot. If I get another dog he'll be Moony). I want to name my kids after Harry Potter characters too.
I will always read the series. I also want to be a teacher, and I'll base the curriculum on the House points and Cup.
And I need to go to a wrock concert. That's one of my life goals.
