  • @wwDevichan I think it was because he was a men's coach and very few women were competing it at the time so it would have been a big thing. In an interview she said they had to be good because it was for the nation's glory and the athletes were one way of validating the political path the country was following.

  • my favourite part of this routine id definately from 0:50 to 1:04

  • R.I.P Darling, such a shame that you're gone you had amazing talent and were absolutely gorgeous.!! <3

  • WHy did her coach push her so hard?

  • it is so sad thinking about this, what a horrific accident

her family is still in my prayers

  • i totally agree with you, except for she was an orphan with no grandparents or siblings, so what family?

  • NICE

  • Thank you for posting this.

She is a legend. RIP sweet Champion. You were a haunting beauty with a gift for the sport you loved.

  • Sorry if she's dead!

  • Where did this take place? Who else was there?

  • u ar amazing rip

  • She truly was-she threw a double back here an incredibly difficult tumbling pass for her day on such thin mats with no springs-and she did it in 'just' and exhibition. I've seen videos of Nadia in exhibition in those days and she really waters down her work.

  • RIP Elena. Your gymnastics will be missed greatly.
