  • anyways whats the name of this song.

  • they look cherokee

  • ANY ONE OUT THERE KNOW WHAT THIS SONG IS CALLED!?

  • Gotta love Bill Crouse and letting his voice be hip-hopped! :-)

  • Comment removed

  • This show the diverse of us all as a people. As being diversed... includes American Indian culture as it welcomes the acceptance of all, and dances to a different beat. We are 21 century.. & I believe it all started with SPIRIT! I would define this as a variance to tribal dance.. as it is seen with people who House Dance. I get the concept.

  • rhis is something like a wamtanoge would do.

  • kinda dumb, hip hop equals corruption, our kids acting like street thugs, black gangsters and crips wannabe lil niglet indians. u dumb indians have lost your respect for the drum and the sacred feathers u wear. pathetic

  • @deepbushleague hip hop is a culture that began with speaking out against oppression and expressing your individuality through graffiti, breakdancing, DJing, and rapping or MCing. Hip hop doesn't mean "corruption" and "black gangsters and crips" and if you weren't so quick to pass judgement on things that you're completely ignorant of you might have looked this up. I just don't see where you get off on calling "dumb indians" "pathetic"...

  • @fuzzwahmrp hiphop and rap having corrupted our youth then? they havent joined gangs or they havent disrespected their own parents and they havent tryed to act like lil gangsters, all this things u talk about originated from the crips in LA. The powwow and the daces, but most importantly the drum and the songs were given by god or the creator, these gatherings arent for hip hop or rapping, they were made for the drum and healing . You are lost, hip hop has done nuthing but corrupt our youth,AHO!

  • @deepbushleague Ok, listen carefully since you refuse to educate yourself. HIP HOP began in the 70's on the EAST COAST,NYC. The phrase was coined by Afrika Bambaataa who was an equal rights activist. Back then gangs were formed to PROTECT their black and latino neighborhoods from the harassment of police, they would organize and assist in community activities, protect and help people in need, and actually RID the neighborhoods of drug dealers. It was about Peace, Unity, Love, and Having Fun.....

  • @fuzzwahmrp all i see is young native kids acting like little rappers and being disrespectful to others. swearing and selling drugs to make these hip hop albums. thats all i see. keep ur hip hop out of powwow. learn about why natives were given the drum and it was nt for hip hop. google all ur hip hop history you want. I know what i see and i see nuthing but disrespect. go be a lil niglet and rap all u want. me i will sing powwow and respect the culture of the indian peoples. AHO!!!

  • @deepbushleague ... and listen to Iron Maiden... Anyways, I think we're reaching some common ground, I agree that native kids (and ALL kids) shouldn't be disrespectful to others, they shouldn't be selling drugs and emulating the garbage they hear on the radio. Pow wows I've been to have traditional dances and social dances that are for anyone and I see a lot of people enjoying themselves, much like these folks. All I'm saying is don't be so ethnocentric and judgemental to say hip hop=corruption

  • @fuzzwahmrp to be honest the females dancing like strippers in the other videos is the only thing I'd be upset with.

  • @deepbushleague ....(part 2) now GANGSTER RAP was developed in the 80's on the WEST COAST, a good decade later on the other side of the continent. It still involved speaking out against the oppression and giving the world a glimpse into the living conditions of the ghetto and into the lives of urban youth that are trapped in a sad situation. Over the last 10-15 years mainstream rap has been corrupted, only promoting violence, drugs, promiscuity, and ignorance, nothing like REAL hip hop.

  • the guys are cute!

  • @sheenadthrice with the feather and beads over there faces ? how could you see it?

  • @darbi33native because its somethin but i dont know what it is i tryed one on i could see

  • where can i get the sound track

  • this is soo cappable of natives trying new things i like it alot i just cant understand y these ppl dont like it cause iam metis i respect it very much

  • its not about acting black, it's about keeping our healthy lifestyle: traditional dancing alive and not altered so kids younger this generation can know and learn how to dance traditionally. otherwise. . . make a new genre that doesnt consist of traditional threads. it's not betrayal. . . its disrespect to keeping what we have left sacred as natives.

  • What is the name of the song?? I know its NDN Kars by Keith Secola, but its a remix!!, Does anyone know what its remixed with??

  • @shyann80 -- that's not Keith's "NDN Kars", it's Chief Rock's remix of a Haudenosaunee social dance song by Bill Crouse. Look up Purplekushpro here on YT and you can find the remix versions, or search on Bill's name and you can find some clips of him singing without the added beats.

  • their ansestors must be rooling over in their graves. I think I'd respect their culture more, if I didn't have to see this shit.

  • No honor wanabe nigs good parenting skills

  • This is a way to make younger kids interested in our cultture...I love modernizing my traditional dancing...I don't believe for one minute that any style of dance has stayed exactly the same with out new concepts being introuced...I think this is a cool and innovative idea and have worked on some things myself...Elders always cheer on the young ones who bring new ideas into the old...it like the labels on milk it changes!! :)

  • this is awesome! looks like so much fun! I love love this song!

  • Dang, let young people do thier thing & have some fun. What a bunch of ol' farts. These young people are sober and at a Pow Wow, not hangin on the streets. You want tradition only? Turn off your computer and sell your cars. Geezze.

  • I find it humorous that most of the people that had something negative to say about this video don’t even show their faces on their profiles! What I find even more humorous is the fact that most humans feel the need to bash others just to make them selves feel superior. So sad the human race!

  • lol, @noears49 i guess ill comment on your stupid comments until you respond,YOU ARE AN IDIOT, It seems like you get off making yourself superior to east coast indians as a whole, it pisses me off, ALOT, as a virginia indian these people are my family, and as a native(if thats what you are) they are your family as well. now i could go on and on about the problems that the western and plains indians have on the reservations but it saddens me, it doesnt make me feel superior, U SUCK GET A LIFE

  • EAST COAST NATIVES have no culture left and no respect for their culture this is sad to see i know for a fact this shit will never happen on the plains where the real natives live.......oglala lakota...northern arapaho....northern cheyenne!!!!!

  • Are people seriously hating on this? Are the haters really at such a loss for material to throw hate at that they're dissing THIS??

    OMG ROTFLMBO!

I always thought haters were just losers with such little self respect that they had to try their hardest to make other people miserble to drag them down to hater level but to hate on THIS???? Classically pathetic....

This just looked like native dancers dancing...it may not be traditional dancing but it's still native dancing...THEY'RE NATIVES!

  • i like the song what is it called n i love the dancing

  • geez, lighten up! This is suppose to be fun!

  • When they do this it gives them a chance to have some fun. While they dance, as well as gives them some away time. From the Pow-Wow dancing! There is nothing with this I would understand if it was a Ceremonial. But this is more of a public event so there is nothing with doing this.

  • I was told these were ojibwa' , but i dont believe it !

  • By any chance are these natives desendants of the Freedmen ?

  • fuck all you who are hating on this there just having fun . !

  • The tribe that put this charade on outa be tested for their DNA and have their

blood quantum investigated . This is an insult to my brothers and sisters

that are out there fighting for our indigenous rights , against racism , our

right to practice our spiritual beliefs . Theres bros' and sisters that are in

prisons or dead that took our culture - heritage seriously and fought for it !!

Are they even Native Americans ?

  • @native4sure17 Are you? You should be standing up for this video not knocking it! I am a native American Woman... Ojibwe from the U.P! I think its awesome that these kids can find a way to have fun and still include there native culture! Who are they hurting by having fun? Its not like its the actual pow wow! Its after all the traditional stuff is over! The kids wanted something fun to do and this is what came of it! As you can see some of the elders are even enjoying it!

  • Its fun, if the elders permit it then let it, be!!

  • What is this song?

  • okay this is kinda horrible cause these outfits arent ment to be used in this way

  • what ever it takes to keep our young people involved with their culture and community. Way to Go guys!!.. Go experience a pow wow first hand b4 you complain. Not much difference with the christian churches, they created youth groups to draw in the young people. Again thank you Nikkitra for the post, amatakweasin

  • What's the songs name?

  • i love the video! they did the damn thing. AT LEAST THEY DID THE HIP HOP AFTER THE TRADITIONAL DANCING.

  • omg. just forget about all the negativity.

you just do you. native pride~

  • This is so f-ing hilarious! So shaking your ass is considered to be a hoe??? hahaha this is so dumb. Why do indians always refer back to white people doing them wrong?! lol it's so dumb and old

  • Come on people take the rods out of your asses. I fyou have ever been to a Pow Wow you will know they are about togetherness and gathering. Yes there are traditional songs and dances which by the way you will never see on here because they can not be recorded. I think this is wonderful and would like to see it at my reserves Pow Wow some day. I know we do alot of things too to have fun because there are many nations, people and communities together. Keep it up Nikkitra. Excellent I loved !

  • I think this is awesome! I'm half native and this makes me very proud. Theres nothing wrong with spicing things up a little bit, and theres nothing wrong with a little change. This is not wrong, get with the times ppl and quit being a tight ass. loosen up a bit and have fun with it, have a sense of humour...it's innocent fun.

  • nice job but still if your gona dance like that please do it in diffrent clothing! thank you!

  • I like the music, but not the fact that they're dancing in the native outfits to it. It's a disgrace to the culture, and to the sacred meanings behind the point to wearing the outfits in the first place!

  • the elders are spinning in thier graves!

  • I Personally Think That Dancing They Way We Were Supposed To Be Dancing Is Best Becuz We're Losing Everything Esle To White Ppl And Other Races..Why Lose Our Powwow Ways?...And The Hell With You ~707thetruth~ If It Weren't For You Paper Asses We Wouldn't Have It So Hard In This Modern Time & I'm Only 16!!...

  • I LIKE IT. cause were still here.and damn it who are you to tell us what to do?NO ONE.

  • natives are the kindest people that are here and why disgraceour culture like wtf is with the lil kids in there while them hoes are shaking ass' thats not how we were taught to powwow dance so fuck you whoever thinks that we would've been slaved out fuck that payfor you shit bitch

  • @destineyamber14 You talk about disgracing our culture & call these girls hoes &

bitches - well you are disgracing our culture. Who are you to judge & in rhe past

our women were treated with respect. It is men like you that are bringing violence &

disrespect on our reservations. I am an elder & I am much more shamed by you

than kids having fun. An elder woman Ojibwe. ZEBO 1896

  • sickening!!

  • Shame on them!

  • this is soooooooooooooooooo gayy!!lets just stick to normal powwow!!lmfao

  • Bill Crouse rocks!!

  • this dosent even sound like hip hop it sounds like disco

  • I dunno, somebody just said "damnit" near the circle. I was taught that cursing, smoking, spitting, bad thoughts...were prohibited to keep negativities away.

  • Unless you're hearing something I don't I don't think anyone says "dammit." At one point you can hear a spactator saying, "He's jamming" and it sort of sounds like "dammit" but that's not what was said.

  • I sure hope it wasn't. Thanks for that clarification.

  • this is just proof of how cultures evolve...plus its pretty frikin cool.

  • Ok, I see what you mean, so this took some getting used too, as Im used to more traditional pow wow dancing and drumming but Im always up for something new and different and this is kind of a newer more fresher outlook on powwow dancing and all, so ya its pretty sweetdancing though

  • fucking awesome dude with the bustle......lmao

  • Lol ahh i wanna go to one!! but its freaking snowing!! T.T

  • This whole concept was created to get the youth back in our culture We are drifting away from our roots and dont care about where we come from. The youth today are to busy playing PS3 and xbox 360 to even take a min and learn our relgion

  • Get ready to drift away even further.

  • go back to playing Diablo II in your basement

  • wow, very disrespectful, they should not be allowed to dance EVER!!

  • great video still fun to look at.

  • I am black and they aren't trying to be black! Everyone dances to hip hip music! They are very traditional because they are wearing their traditional garments, the music playing consists of a Native beat and they are dancing with other Natives...Come on people get over it!

  • many all of you are idiots go back to school!

  • wats the song called ?

  • its called "we dance trying to act black but were really ashamed to be native hey ya hey ya yooooooooooooo HUTCHA!!!"

  • go fuck ur self bitch, u wana talk shit to me. go on full tilt poker and play me no limit texas holdem heads up u cunt. fuck u bitch

    fuckin snitches

    obama 08 baby

  • ok im half native american and half african american my dad is all native my mom is black. yes im a mixed breed but just cuz they are dancin like that dosent mean the so called black music are corrupting the youth its obviously they know how to dance like that but it happens that they know how to sacrid dance to. no its not right that they are dancing like that in there outfits or on the land but if the elders obviously put the music on then they approve just leave it alone they was having fun

  • speak for yourself attention seeker....maybe you should take all that energy you wasted and take your white brown ass whatever you are, back to school...learn to spell moron!

  • man u must be some kinda retard or mentally challenged so i wont feed your insanity and i'll just let you freak out over nothing or maybe you dont have a life...your probably some fat loser who cant get laid..wigger you prolly wanna be black but your penis is too small lol loser

  • fucking shit heads hate the fuck outa this if thier were any natives with sense at this pow-wow they would have stoped this obviously this people are wannabes

  • come one now, their just adding some spice into the dance ;] =]

  • stfu

  • You are sad get over it. They were having fun.

  • powows arent meant to have fun, theyre meant to be boring and eveyrone with faces looking like --> :| ....so keep it traditional son!

  • LOL are u stupid? Cause you just made the dumbest comment i have ever witnessed so far on here. pow wows u dumb twat goblin were meant for fun. lol u wannabe nig

  • are you talking about me?

  • im talking to the fag tard phil wannabe... sad lil thunder cunt that IT is.

  • wat u talkin bout SON

  • LMAO, you saying I'm a wannabe NIG? and these ppl on these videos are tryin to be black? think about the irony...

    it's called having fun ! (:

and just combining other culture like

    uhmm.. get over it .

  • this shit is so fucking emberassing man, fuck i am ashamed to be native cuz all these ppl wanna do is ACT BLACK, man i wish i was black!

  • @philivey712 You are disgusting. Are you drunk or high or are you just an idiot? I am

an Indian woman & I would like to know what produces someone as ignorant sounding as you, Did you go to school & are an aberation or were you raised in a

family with domestic violence & alcoholism &/or drug addiction. You need to spend

time with the grandfathers & truly learn the Red way before you really do someone

violence if you haven't already. A woman elder of the Ojibwe tribe. ZEBO 1896

  • But the men's fancy dancer in the green is a gr9 dancer and hott!!

Wht a fine piece of native arse

  • good medicine

  • I LOOOOOOOOOOOVVVE THIS SONG !!!! hatcha

  • hey the white man came here to influence, so blame it on them! otherwise, allow these natives to have some fun. They are not drinking or doing drugs, they are just having fun naturally, so give 'em a break.. it's a small pow wow besides & the crowd looks like they enjoy it, who are you to criticize?

  • Its not assimilation making them do this their "wannabe's" trying to make their own powwows by stealing our traditions. IF you do see a real Native their selling out because these people pay them money and honor them by giving them attention they would never get in their own communities. Believe me no true Native would actually permit this or participate that knew their true traditions and culture.

  • I would never do this.

& bballplyr.."combined"??? LMAO! I'm sure you mean assimilated! Personally, i don't think assimilation is a good thing.. it makes people slowly lose their culture.. we're assimilated so well that we have elders out there on the streets & alcoholic parents that can't look after their own kids.. This video is embarrassing!

  • I don't find this offensive

i am a very traditional girl from a very traditional family all it's doing is combining two different cultures into an outrageously funny dancing kinda thing and all you "traditional" natives who find something wrong with this are almost stupid... our people tried to combined different culture when the white men came over here and now we finally are combined into one but now you're trying to say that it's wrong? There is nothing wrong with this!

    NATIVE PRiDE!! <33

  • the one in the green must be a teeanager cause of the way he dance.and he kinda looks that wya

  • at least there not out there getting drunk and partying. they take time out of there days to go to pow-wows and entertain people. like us. all the power to them!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it's stupid, discraceful and has no business being around at all. They've forgotten the old ones

  • According to a post on another video from the saem event, that's BILL CROUSE performing SHAKE THE BUSH. I haven't found a CD or download yet, but would love to.

Traditions of a living culture grow and change with the times, y'all. These dancers still keep the old ways AND have some fun trying out some new ones.

  • i would never dance to this.

  • what pow wow was this?, i think i was there

  • Whats the name of the song, y'all!!!

  • BTW Excellent all and everything 50*****

  • This was not the pow wow! This was after all of the tradtional dancing. The elders told the kids to have fun after days of tiring compatition! The elders were all sitting under the tent watching, and no one objected! I used to compete, and the pow wows go on for days, and it is really exhausting! All you people saying that it is disrespectful, are either WHITE, or don't understand the after pow wow parties! Of course they don't change cloths, because it is minutes after the pow wow is over!

  • This was a hip hop competition after the pow wow, as a reward to the kids for all of they're hard work and dedication! I see nothing wrong with it at all!!! You people need to know what you are talking about before you post hateful comments tward our young Native American dancers!!! They work hard at the pow wow's, and deserve to relax and have fun!!!

  • Man's inhumanity to man is exhausting and disrespectful...Hishuk ish Tsawalk - Everything is One All is Connected ...form a Whitey who was betrayed for loving not ... my heart beats

  • dido

  • @ndjln122 thank u! thumbs up.

  • I love it.I wish i could to a powow an c that, but the ones i've been to they are all serious

  • that was so cool lol

  • to anyone who's interested, not including the ones who are closed minded because they don't care anyway, this is called "FUSION" when one style of dance takes on another style and incorporates it into the traditional movements. fusion has been done since time began. it's inevitable. look towards other cultures and traditional dances and you'll see the blending of dance, the art of moving ones body. it has nothing to do with killing traditions, only forming new ones. reply quicksilver, dare ya!

  • whos singin in here ...kewl tune man ..would love to down load da singers in here its rockin ;)

  • EZ BOY!!

Whoever said, "What the fuck is wrong with these elders.." just contradicted yourself (No Respect).

Set aside all the horrible things that happened to our people. Residential schools taught our elders not to love or enjoy life.

Here we see these people loving and enjoying life. Happy... together... Do you comprehend?

For all you know... this could be their treaty days!!!

So please, let these people, elders and youth, enjoy life and laugh. THAT IS OUR CULTURE......

  • if i ever went to a powwow and it wasn't like every other powwow i have been to. I would be so so so mad. I dont stand for this shit. what the fuck is wrong with these elders letting the kids dance different than how we dance. so much disrespect to the elders. I cant even believe that they would do something different than what is normal. they should know you can only dance as an elder would and anything else should be kept at the club where the evil indian spirits are.

  • i understand this....theres nothing wrong with this.....anyone trying to judge this ppl are stupid all i see is ppl that are happy and together why are u guys going to try and judge them wow shame shame

  • That's not pow-wow dancing..r u confused about our culture, our traditions? Well i certainly doesn't involve hip hop..get it straight..I'm surprised they even let u do something like that..where r the elders?

  • I agree with you.

Is this what are elders were put into residential schools for? For their grandchildren to disrespect our culture? I don't care if it was out of fun. Leave that dancing at the Club!

  • I thought Powwows were supposed to be traditional..what teh hell is this? this isn't our culture or tradition...it's what we were taught by our elders.

  • this is retarded its true how some people say we try to act black come on now we have our own culture lets keep it original and keep that kind of dancing for the clubs!

  • LMFAO!!!! how embaressing lol

  • ugh, get this shit outta here...

i hate how Hip Hop culture is infecting our native youth. at all the powwows i go to, you always see them kids acting like gangsters or whatever. this is really disrespectful and something i would expect to happen up north.

you wouldn't find this kind of mess in oklahoma that's for sure...

  • looks like there having fun. nothing wrong with that.

  • Whats the song name?? Nothing wrong with being contemporary!!! sweet tune dude!!! luv the dancing

  • you of all people should no that this is not tradtion its the white man way.decide weather ur white or brown then u decide what is the right dance 4 your color.u make us nds look like we dnt no how 2 dance

  • I've never seen a white man dance like that!

  • thats not pow-wow thats making fun oe=f our tradtion

  • What is this song called?

  • i dont know whats the bid deal is?

maybe because im not into the whole traditional thing...but yeah.

anyways, does anyone know the song their singing?

  • You say you're "not into the whole traditional thing" and then say you don't know what the big deal is?

Damn..maybe you should learn what traditional means before you make such stupid comments...

  • ya know im a christian and the whole 'traditional' thing is way out of whack...sorry...and i dont think my comment was stupid...i was just asking a question...and if your into the traditional thing then you could politely answer my question...im not trying to offend anyone...it was just a question...

    so yeah...

  • ameteri, how would like it if these dancers were gyrating their pelvises against a crucifix or against your face?

  • its changing it up..... imagine if you were out there dancin to this new beat you never heard of... and you gotta incorporate some tradish in the mix.. its original and makes ya think off the top of your head and jam

  • this certainly isnt typical Indian dancing. i sure the elders of the tribe were more confused than anything. in no way do i think its "offensive".

i think our powwows should be primarily focused in Native dancing, not african dancing. i salute the members of this tribe for doing something different. i was heavily amused by the dancing they were doing, i think anything comes into play when spicing up a powwow.

as long as Indians are dancing.nobody can take away our Native Pride~! nobody!

  • That's not African dancing. To see some real African dancing check out Sabar dancers on Youtube.

  • This looks like what they are having is a little fun!! If you wanna talk about disrespecting your yourselves , you may wanna look at all the garbage we are dumping on mother earth, you may want to turn out those lights, all the drugs our ppl are injecting into thier systems and the men beating women...this is not disrespect!!!!!!!!!
