I was hoping this was done on an actual cartridge than some game maker program that can make ANY game good with no effort. It also gives a false image of the NES having a massive library of good games, when it was the other way around.

For 1986, games were still very simple. They were starting to become a little more complicated starting in 87-88, peaking in the 90s, for obvious reasons.

This goes to show you that people will appreciate anything with little effort put in.

@LuwiigiMaster To add to my previous post, since I only had room for 20 more characters. Making a game of this caliber for the NES itself not only is impossible for hipsters, it's outright difficult. And the first site you linked to says 4 colors per sprite, not 6. Mega Man looks like that because his face is an extra entity, and not part of his sprite.

Plus, this game would only need 200 KBs to work on an NES, yet this needs Megabytes to run. How ironic indeed. :V

While I was watching this, I thought "Boy, it's a good thing you can shoot through the other player". Then I realized that NES games, such as Double Dragon, had a mode where you could hurt the other player. It would make for a more interesting gaming experience if you had four modes of play, like Double Dragon did. But that's just me.

I've been playing it off and on since I dled it earlier today, and it's a lot of fun! I actually think it's better than the original, but that's just my opinion.

I do have one suggestion, include a save feature in the safe rooms? It takes so long to get to them, and I (probably other too) don't usually have time to sit down and simply blast through to the end of the level.
