  • superannoyingtroll, have you ever in your life spent time with down syndrome people. if not i hope you get to sometime soon and see they are people too.

  • Dan Drinker is a gay retard.

  • My brother is autistic and worries about death and losing people all the time. Also because of having autism it is hard socially and you feel alone sometimes. I know exactly how Dan feels and his parents and sister. It is very hard sometimes to deal with the fear.

  • yea an Elvis fan! Cool!

  • Everyone should have a family as AWESOME as this ONE!

  • I go to PW right now i never met Dan but this video almost made me cry.

  • Who cares, it doesn't have feelings it's just trying to trick you

  • I dont get it. We all deal with death by crying, usually.

  • hes such a sweet boy ;(

  • is this a comedy i think it is does any buddy laugh during this video

  • @gangstermike33 Nah. No "buddy" laughs, dipshit.

  • that girl isnt drinker dan

  • I cried when i saw this :( It makes me feel bad knowing that i call people stupid and retard using it offensively now i know...its not something to make fun of

  • people with Down Syndrome are really compassionate. they exhibit a different kind of intelligence. meanwhile, some of my best friends, all of whom are super intelligent (IQs of 140+) are so cold and apathetic towards everything in life. a couple of them are sociopathic and severely manic. and while they will probably be able to just about everything some day, one thing they cannot do is love like this guy who just happens to be mentally retarded.

  • HIJACKLOVER! shut up! people like you need to go to hell! dont post stupid comments on videos like this..thats immature!

  • lol Will's rollin' ;)

  • Why feel bad for him? I envy him..He appreciates everything in life...

  • I too think it a little strange this was filmed and wasn't sure what I was watching as I clicked on it. I don't know, My son has Down Syndrome and I want the world to know how amazing he is, but I think I'd leave this reaction out. I do appreciate the show of love he has.

  • @juliebuglovesdarren Its not possible to leave the uncomfortable parts of life out. It would be great to wrap everything up in a pretty red bow but life is about grief and struggle and unkindness and death just as much as it is about the counterparts. I understand your urge to protect, but I think for the sake of being genuine and true to life you have to include pain sometimes too

  • He seems like a good guy... Its sad... but he is who he is, and thats something he should be damn proud of. Q~Q

  • what a freak.

  • @hijacklover That's nice.

  • @hijacklover he's born like that dont hate on a human beeing

  • Dan is amazing, a real role model for us all. Wishing Dan and the Drinkers all the best from Oxford

  • what a bum bum

  • @straken9k1 if that's true, you would make a killer living on comedy central.

  • @straken9k1 Yo, I graduated with this Guy from Plymouth Whitemarsh High in 2005. Just because he is mentally challenged does not make him a retard! I'd rethink your accusations before making them, or you might be the one classified as a retard! Don't make fun of those born with this disease or any kind of mental disorder, ASSHOLE.

  • My brother with Downs is exactly the same. He gets overly emotional about deaths when he hardly knows the person. Ive spent many a time hugging my bro and telling him it will be ok. Good video. Downs syndrome kids definitely have more heart and emotion than you or I

  • <3 aoo :( poor dan.. he seemed to have loved him alot :( xoxo

  • very touching

  • self harm!

  • Daniel's speech impediment is quite extreme. I was wondering whether if it was a physical thing do to his tongue being larger than a normal persons or is it a mental issue?

I ask this with respect towards young Daniel!

  • lol XD new to me too, thought they were born with no heart.

  • I've noticed that Down Syndrome Babies have a tendency to stick their Tongues out. When Dan is being comforted by his father,we see Dan doing exactly the same thing 3:39 and was wondering if the security of being in his father's arms makes him feel so safe and peaceful that he regresses back to his childhood or infancy. I think it's wonderful that Dan can go over to his dad and know that he's loved that much.

  • What a great Mom! Dan is so lucky to have her.

  • Dan, you are great. I wish I could make your sorrow disappear, but I can't. I'll keep you within my prayers.

  • poor dan

  • I'm so sorry, Dan. Thank you for sharing this video with us.

  • I particularly like the last few seconds when your parents are discussing everyones reaction. It always makes me laugh!

  • I find it a bit strange that you're sharing this personal moment with the YouTube community publicly... I felt weird watching parts of it: like it wasn't any of my business. But I do enjoy your videos and admire what seems to be a strong connection between much of your family. Peace.

  • He is cool =D

  • His family is pretty awsome

  • I wish Dan was my brother! Im so jealous! He always seems so happy!

  • He certainly gets over the news pretty quick!!!

  • aww!!

    I wanna give him a hug..:\

    that is so sad!!

    I love you Dan!

    I'm your biggest fan!

  • I thinkm i'm going to cry too

  • this made me cry..

  • Dan has so much heart. This video is so touching.

  • Dans got so much love in his heart and such an amazing family. I'm sorry for his loss. =(

  • really cool man..

  • You are an awesome brother.

  • his dad looks like will ferrell

  • Wow..this is amazing..I'm so sorry.

Sara Evenson told me to watch these videos, and i'm glad i did. My brother was diagnosed with Autism about 4-5 years ago. You are truly an inspiration to my family and I :)

  • Dan you are so sweet! I really appreciate your example. I wish I could be more like you!

  • Thank you for this video. Dan touches me and helps me know what I might expect for my son.

  • Man. That was rough. My son is 15 and lost his 15 yr old cousin two years ago. He deals with it very much the same way.

    Dan is so great.

  • i just lost someone myself and had a very similar experience last night. Thanks for sharing your experience. It was touching.

  • Dan you're such a sweet guy. You have a very nice and supportive family- thank you for sharing this video with the rest of the world.

  • I almost cried when he found out! dang good video Stay true DAN keep the love :)

  • stay gold dan

  • You just don't see this kind of naked love in your average adult.

  • Your family is SO LOVING and Dan is so lucky to have such a loving family. This just tore my heart strings like no other. I love your videos!!! I'm definitely subscribing.

  • dan...i am so sorry and u rule

  • Dan might not be able to read the comments even the one you posted. He has trouble with communication and serious reading difficulties. I saw it in some of the videos that he was hesitant and needed help reading. I think that even people who have reading difficulties are people with mental disabilities (presumably those with Downs Syndrome as well). People with Downs Syndrome can have serious mental health issues and have trouble functioning correctly like any average human being.

  • This is idiocy. I have watched a few of these videos and I must say, even if he cannot read every word you are saying, I'm sure the message is properly conveyed and he will take it to heart. So be cold or ignorant if you want, it just shows your character (or lack thereof).

  • In one video, Dan and his special ed class (in a community class) were out grocery shopping to practice life skills. Dan was the one who needed to learn the routines and importances of shopping. Mrs. Kenny, the teacher / aide of Dan asked Dan to read the next item on the list, he said "Help me!", Mrs. Kenny said "You know what it says.", Dan tried to read, Mrs. Kenny said "NO!" correcting him. Mrs. Kenny helped him continue to read by having Dan repeat what words she said.

  • your dad looks like will farrell.

  • I can see that! He really does!

  • No, Will Farrell looks like his dad.

  • The intensity of Dan's emotions is much like that of my son's, who also has Down syndrome. I don't know that it's always true with these guys, but I know this: Every Dan should have a Will, and an Emily, and a Mom and Dad like this. Will, thank you for this work, and thanks to all of your family for giving us a glimpse into the full and mysterious heart of Dan.

  • This video is absolutely amazing.

Things like this really restore my faith in humanity.

  • Agreed.

  • Thank you for sharing the intimate details of your family's journey. I'd seen a couple other videos of Dan but this one ripped out my heart. How open and honest and caring and just so pure he is. You guys are so blessed to have him, and he you. I lost my mom in Sept 2007 and the moment I was told was the worst moment of my life. Most folks can imagine that raw pain as they've had it happen to them, but few of us can work through it as openly as Dan.

  • I don't know this Dan but he seems to have such a beautiful personality, I don't understand how people can make fun of people like Dan...i never really realized how awesome of human beings people like Dan really are....thanks for this video..it's very touching and inspiring

  • Haha Em go do your work lol but I feel sad for Mr.Kenny, your care for everyone Dan even if you dont know them well.

  • This cuts to the soul. I think it's the most touching video I've ever seen on YouTube.

Crying is healthy, emotionally and physically, and should never be discouraged. Feelings are what they are. You feel what you feel. People shouldn't try to talk others out of feeling what they feel.

Two comments for Dan: (1) I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. (2) You're awesome!

  • The same thing happens to me whenever I hear about a certain death of someone, my heart just leaps, because when my heart leaps it's just shocking. It's just real hard to accept, to know that somebody you know has perished. My heart leapt when I heard that actor Heath Ledger died, and therefore was shocking to hear the reports. I just had to put it on mute when Dan cried. Poor Dan found it very hard, and I must feel real sorry for him.

  • CANT WAIT FOR MORE VIDES DAN

  • I like Em's comment on Dan not knowing this guy. That is an amazing sense of feeling Dan has for all people.

  • When Dan says "cursive", it sounds like "surface".

  • Ahhh, I just love Dan! I wish that we could all be "real" like Dan. Usually Will produces extremely funny videos, but this one made me sad. But, I guess all parts of a documentary cannot be funny. This is very interesting how you are telling his story and I can't wait to see any new videos that you post.

  • Please don't cry anymore! I'll get you into the wizard somehow. Come! I've had a teaching aide myself once.

  • Well said. Dan you are the best (:
