I did a nice walk in the middle of the night in Amsterdam a couple of years ago. The worst thing that happened was one guy that asked me if I wanted to buy some cocain. U should see it this way. By law cannabis is illegal, but it's tólerated. Due to several issues it's pretty hard to legalize it (EU for example). So basically, u can buy weed in a coffeeshop, smoke it there, or at home. If you smoke it on the streets, that's not really a problem either, as long as u keep a low profile it's fine. U are allowed to possess a determined amount+u can have up to 5 plants at home. Tip for tourists: If you smoke weed over here in Holland, do it modestly.

I lived and worked in Amsterdam for 3 years. Their way of life has to be admired. There's little or no violence, no drunks shouting in the streets. People who are stoned are very tolerant. Even on the busy weekends when the Germans come into the city to really party, they remain very relaxed and the whole time is one of a relaxed atmosphere. Amsterdam is one of the friendliest cities in the World. Unless you're looking for trouble.

I did a nice walk in the middle of the night in Amsterdam a couple of years ago. The worst thing that happened was one guy that asked me if I wanted to buy some cocain. He was very nice =) Not intimitading or anything of that nature. I DID get lost on the streets, though haha! Stupid street designs. I love that city! Everyone that I talked to or just met was very friendly.

Been to Amsterdam a couple of times. Very beautiful, chill and safe place. How can you say such bad things about the people who love bicycles so much, that they've build a multiple-storey parking lot for bicycles right in the city centre.

We try to prepair them as good as we can in the hope they will have safe sex and don't get pregnant on an early age. The drugs policy is only for canabis. You are only allowed to have a certain amount with you. The rest of the drugs is illegal. I've lived my whole life in Amsterdam and I never used any drugs. If you buy cannabis at a coffeeshop at least you know it's safe.

U should see it this way. By law cannabis is illegal, but it's tólerated. Due to several issues it's pretty hard to legalize it (EU for example). So basically, u can buy weed in a coffeeshop, smoke it there, or at home. If you smoke it on the streets, that's not really a problem either, as long as u keep a low profile it's fine. U are allowed to possess a determined amount+u can have up to 5 plants at home. Tip for tourists: If you smoke weed over here in Holland, do it modestly.

I lived and worked in Amsterdam for 3 years. Their way of life has to be admired. There's little or no violence, no drunks shouting in the streets. People who are stoned are very tolerant. Even on the busy weekends when the Germans come into the city to really party, they remain very relaxed and the whole time is one of a relaxed atmosphere. Amsterdam is one of the friendliest cities in the World. Unless you're looking for trouble.
