im looking to make my 1981 cm 400 pretty sick. i want it to be a softtail sort of thing, but the way i haave it drawn up will still look pretty sick. ill let you know when i finish it.
@AmericanFuckups518 the seat is a piece of 1/4" or 3/8" round tube, heated and bent around a brake rotor from a 1984 Nissan 280Z (i recommend finding a rotor that fits your "tail section" and using that...then i simply welded some expanded steel to it and hammered it down into a slight bowl shape...I noticed the other day as I was riding that the front corners were starting to crack the welds...which prolly says more about my welding skills than the design...it is a bit of a rough ride...
I have a 1981 CM400 C and am making it into a hondasin bobber. I am having some issues with things that you have done to yours and I would like to ask some questions on how you did it.... can you email me?
why would I want a chain guard or air filters? that is for people who want to pretend to be bad ass, or people who want to ride a store bought bike...i am neither...
@FLYINHIGH5 NIce bike brah...no need for chain guard but I dont know why anyone would even think about having no air filters on their carbs.....Guess you dont care if hair , dirt , dust and shit gets in your carbs ?
I'm still trying to figure out what I was trying to do...and trying to figure out if I got it or not...next I need to find an older XS750 to chop, drop, bob, and weld on...:-D
Wicked looking! The seat is very inventive.

Great chop! I want to do similar mods to my CM400a. I like the extended swing-arm idea.
