  • I and Joey Arias enjoyed performing with Klaus until the end. XOXO Rest in Peace Dear Klaus. Adrian Richards

  • te amo nomi...para siempre...

  • Way ahead of his time...or our time anyway.

  • I wonder, how many great songs he could deliver to this world if he lived a little longer. This one I like most and I love to listen to it while driving my car :)

  • Did he sing live ? That´s the brilliantest performance i had ever seen of him... . :D

    I LOVE NOMI. :D

  • @Fruchtzwerg3006 This is definitely a live performance. The album performance sounds a bit different.

  • Comment removed

  • Is it just me or is every live performance by klaus better than the studio recordings? His voice just sounds so much better here and on the other live performances :)

  • Let's be honest, Nomi was too good for us. He had to find another world that were up to his standard.

  • The Gods wanted him back...

  • Absolutely Brilliant. We lost a wonderful artist way too early.

  • WoW !!! I like it !!!

  • giant!

  • Wow just wow, this song is amazing and so is he, period!

  • Too bad I only found this song after the rapture was supposed to happen. The good news is the new rapture is set for October. And when that doesn't happen, 2012! ;)

  • Can't we all just get along? X_X, (crude, but I had to say it! All the aggression on Youtube comments cracks me up. ) Fuck it, man! Fuck it! Shit!

  • thanks

    everyone needs to hear this

  • This was at Danceteria, yes? Madonna was probably in this crowd trying to draw attention to herself.

  • Preforming a song about hope while he was dying of AIDS. What can I say? He could be wonderful.

  • That's it! no more watching this on youtube! i've now got the album coming in the mail! .......i'll probably be back.....

  • Yes this guy was very wierd which was a part of what made him so interesting to many. Despite him being flaming gay regardless I don't think that should be a burden to the fact that this man took his artform seriously and for that I respect him very much. Yes he was original and ahead of his time considering that there was never such an act as eccentric as his before and none such as after. Too bad he died but at least he gave the world opportunity to know his work.

  • a middle-aged man, just reaching the peak of career, suddenly suffered a mysterious disease, shame shame

  • Damnit Klaus Nomi, you died of AIDS, how could you have known in 1982 when nobody knew what HIV was or what it did to you - you stylistically picked up where Bowie left off with Scary Monsters, he wasn't worth a shit after that record, your LP still burns bright after thirty years, still so fresh. Ectoplasmic-orgasmic hauntology. Rest in peace.

  • I agree, fuck AIDS, Klaus should be alive today taking more and more dick in his ass. Yea, and I guess singing more crazy songs too.

  • shut up fucking asshole without respect... he is dead..

  • @markx64 shut up ass hole....he is dead

  • @diazepam30 He's Dead? Maybe that is why I wrote "should be alive today".

  • Fuck you AIDS quit taking good people like Klaus Nomi and other such great singers.

  • Who played that solo !?!?!?!?! Quine ?

    Perfect balance for Klaus.

  • Twenty people couldn't see past today.

  • That was a brutal guitar solo

  • IN LOVE. Klaus miss to this planet!

Brandoncipelle, re you sure for AIDS to see the raports with condoms, maybe it's about a needle... Maybe we have to give him clear needles =(

  • I need a time machine . I need to see this man live . I also need to give him lots of condoms . It is ashame he left at such a young age .

  • LOL at the high pitched voice i reapeat LOL

  • I can't say exactly why-but I've always found this song really inspiring. I saw Klaus many times and miss him so much. But this keeps me hopeful that he'll come back and visit us again someday.

  • classics are forever, thanks for sharing. :3

  • Three days ago I saw the documentary "The Nomi Song" and my life hasn't been the same since. Who was this brilliant madman, and why did he have to leave us so soon?

  • @mmurrer

    wow totally stupid

  • @VonTalavang Wow totally agree

  • Forget about Empire State of Mind... THIS should be the anthem for New York City! It evokes New Yorkers enduring the horrors of AIDS (which stole Klaus), the trauma of 2001 (Klaus once worked as a pastry chef in the WTC!) and the godawful music made in its name (looking at you, Jay-Z/Alicia Keys). After it all blows away - Nomi will always be with you, New York.

  • Esta cancion es la ostia.

  • each time i lesson this song my hair dress on my arms !

  • @guillaumelebreton Hair dress on my arms too!

  • @guillaumelebreton I wax my arms so I gess my hair doesn't dress!! MOUHAHAH ;)

Anyway , Klaus was brilliant and we all miss him :/

  • perfect, i love this song

  • I see it too, that lot's of homofobic people say, that he has only gay-audience, and they often called it gay music, but why? It's obvious, that this is an ART, and art is not only for gays. He was outerspacely talented, unpretensious, humble man. What a pity, that he died so young.

  • weird people having weird life ended in a weird way

  • i love klaus.

  • I don't know why some homophobics say that klaus only performed for gay people(audience) it is obvious that it caught the attention of all kinds of audience including me I recently I started watching all his videos on youtube also I recomend to watch his documentary on imbd so everyone can know more about this person with a prodigious voice RIP klaus you were unique artist

  • @technochapi tRUE!

  • He's an androgyne like an angel / his voice is celestial / pure genius

  • He's an androgyne like an angel / his voice is celestial / pure genius

  • He's an androgyne like an angel / his voice is celestial / pure genius

  • so talented so ahead so much potential so unuiqe such tragedy what remains is being

discovered so rest easy mr sperber you where special

  • After the fall, after the fall, we'll be born, born, borrrrn again!!! I see a million lonely mutants and they are glowin in their dark despair, well the freak shall inherit the earth now, no matter how well done or rare! And I"m tellin' you, hold on! Hold on!, Tomorrrow will be therrrre!!!!

  • Despite being a gay transvestite and completely drug related extrovert, his voice could cover 100 octaves at least.

  • @togusa5000 To correct a few things: Yes, he was gay, but he wasn't a transvestite. "Klaus Nomi" is simply a character, a continuation of his rock persona, but offstage, he would dress normally. Secondly, yes, he did occasionally do drugs, but not anymore than anyone else on the New Wave scene at the time. He was never an addict. And lastly, he was actually quite introverted offstage with few friends. Watch "The Nomi Song" to learn more about him. It's rather sad though.

  • @danduran89 you said what MUST be said.Tnx :)

  • Such an amazing performer in addition to his music. i cannot get enough of his music videos, and live performances and anything nomi. RIP GOOD SIR.

  • this is by far, my favorite Nomi song.

    n_____n

    magnificent!

  • Nomi simply the best.

  • Comment removed

  • I love nomi

  • unreachibel.Nomi are the greatest.

  • This song makes me a little tearful because I can't help thinking what a brilliant man the world lost..

Now, if I had a time machine..

  • nomi was the master of the epic chorus. undeniably.

  • Comment removed

  • This guy was way ahead of his time. What a shame he is not alive to see many people lovin´his genius as I do ...

  • One of my favorite songs of his and of all time..!

  • One of the great singing voices of the '80's that should have survived.

  • that voice makes me smile so cool

  • @XxMonArchyxX Don't watch and comment if you don't like him. He's amazing and not a "fucking weirdo nonetheless". He's a genius, and should be praised in all aspects. Just because he doesn't fit your norm doesn't make him weird. Grow up.

  • so....you dont accept unique people?

    pfft!.......loser.

  • thats why it isnt worth remember you

  • he is so cute!!

  • i love klaus nomi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • son quark.. interessant aber sicher nich bester deutscher sänger.. und leute, die hier was von 11 oktaven faseln sollten sich mal belesen. was überhaupt möglich ist. wenn es überhaupt 3 oktaven sind is es schon besonders.

  • demasiado bello para las palabras.

  • Bester deutscher Sänger aller Zeiten!

  • Dispite him singing in a Key far higher than any artists of today can.. his voice could cover 11 octaves at least. To put it bluntly Klaus used his voice as an Instrument, the same way anyone would use a guitar or Synthesizer Keyboard, His voice was his instrument, the music sequenced was only for his backing, He will remain as one of (if not) the greatest entertainers in history.. He died too young, But to be honest, He never died! We all still love him! He just went back to his home planet! x

  • I'm a professional Music Producer and Composer, and have been for over 7 years I have written music with some "popular" Artists Indeed. - Theres no need to get cocky about you being a "Music Student" See.. I've done that...and got the T-Shirt! And yes, I admit, 11 Octaves - It was infact a typing Error, I have no idea how it happened. Also, I Was referring to a different vocal performance that he did. Good luck with your music, you should spend more time on it, than Trawling for mistakes.

  • do u like the music? thats what matters.

  • amen

  • @smashdadrum I don't believe this is christian inspired. If you do research about him, then you would know that it isn't.

  • srry lol just tryin to pay respect i know everythin about Klaus and have every album im not even Christian

  • "his voice could cover 11 octaves at least"

Do you know anything at all about music?

  • @jonahbegone ......As explained a long time ago by me on here, It was a typo, and I have no idea why I put "11 octaves"...but when you have kids pulling at you while your on the computer you kind of get muddled up when typing things... And to answer your rude presumptuous question, YES I do. I bet I have composed and produced many many more songs than you have! I also have a Degree in sound engineering and Music Technology. Hope that answered your question.. You Rude Old Tosser!

  • @raptorrave Yes, I believe he just went back to his home planet too! One day, this 'Starman' will come back and he will blow our minds once again...! I really think without knowing it, David Bowie's Starman was about Klaus... only he didnt' know it, until he met him that is!

  • @raptorrave ...thanks for that. he was a genius and a nut. I knew him in 77. lot's of fun!

  • @raptorrave No human sings 11 octives. You'd be pushing it to claim 6 or 7.

  • @sgmarshall It is known that Yma Sumac was able to sing 4 octaves which is quite exceptional. A normal human being can reach 2,5 octavo. Most people who have no clue about what an octave is, think that when people have quite a reach that they can sing man octaves but it is most of the time like "I caught a fish that big...."

  • @raptorrave maybe he got a good voice but he never wrote a fucking lyric!

  • @ggallin5 I believe that he wrote Nomi Song.

  • Great performance!

  • yeah - he was great: very strange and special in the 80s..

  • Comment removed

  • He was amazing

  • Caraji.... I LOVE KLAUS NOMI!!!!!, HE´LL BE ALWAYS ON OUR HEARTS.

  • It's gorgeous, one of my favourite songs from the genius Klaus Nomi !

  • Well 'the freak shall inherit the earth now, no matter how well done or rare! But I'm tellin' you, hold on! Hold on! Tomorrrrow will be therrrrrre!'

He spoke for the misfits of society, the ones that were misunderstood and derided, and gave them hope.. and still does.. doesn't he...?

  • HELL YEAH!! HE WILL CONTINUE.

  • He does, he was very important and inspiring in my early teens.

  • la voz de los et el gran klaus nomi no habra otro como tu

  • Impresionante!! Amazing voice..... such as Farinelli but in pop!!!

  • KLAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUSSS!!!!!!!!

  • This Is incredible. I hope some day footage of a klaus nomi concert will be released to dvd. has anybody seen a klaus nomi concert live

  • i never heard of klaus nomi since i saw the 2004 documentary "the nomi song" (andrew horn).

for 48h i am totally overwhelmed of his genius...unbelievable!gicantic - and how tragic.

  • Vieviel Power der einfach noch in den hohen Lagen hat...

    Nomi is the best!

  • I think this is the definitive Klaus Nomi song, it really speaks to the hope and optimism that he was all about (see more descriptions of that on the website about his documentary). And this is one of my favorites from him.. sometimes it keeps playing in my head over and over again.. puts

  • KLAUUUS! I wish you were still around so I could tell you how much I love you :'(

  • yayoineko....i like your comment

  • @yayoineko wooooooooooooooooooooo

  • KLAUS you will never forget...your voice

is in the Universum and impress all

    other aliens...like you wore...

  • brilliant. did kristian write this? it sounds like he could have and i know he wrote something for klaus.

  • this is from Christian Johanssen, most of Klaus's pop numbers that where not covers where

  • Yes, I do believe that Kristian Hoffman wrote this, he was an incredibly talented songwriter.. he should do more stuff if he isn't already.. I don't think he always gets enough credit in all of this either..

  • klaus did not die, he just left the planet, for now.

  • He must have went to the same planet as Doctor Frankenfurtter.

  • Amén.

  • Dr. Frankenfurter died by laser.

Only Magenta and Riff Raff left the planet, as far as I remember.

  • Killjoy ;)

  • David Bowie gave us all a hint on where he is in his song "Is their life on mars" lol Klaus chilling up in mars

  • LOL.. in the documentary on him called Nomi Song there is a cute little anecdote on that towards the end.. everyone will have to watch it to find out...!

  • RIP <3

  • klaus nomi es el mejor

  • so could ur mom

  • His voice was/is amazing,

  • wow-always stop`s me..

  • KLUAS NOMI IS SO FUCKING AWESOME!!!

  • which album is this song on?

  • simple man :D

  • i never actually listened to klaus nomi before. i thought he was either a goofy gimmick or a pretentious art thing. but this blew me away.

  • I was exacly like you a few months ago.

And since i heard him, im crazy about him.

By far my favorite singer from the 80's if not ever.

Check my channel i have a playlist of vids with almost all his songs.

  • I love you Klaus see you after the fall.

    xoxo, Jaredwhithamshow

  • Blood is the best lubricant. Love the video.

  • Klaus wieder einfach super

  • Just compare Total Eclipse to see what I mean. He was performing with a studio rock n roll band. It's ok, but nothing like this!

  • Don't forget this was a massive group effort. They were all friends working together- the dancers, choreographer, musicians, song writers. Klaus was an amazing singer and performer, but he also made the mistake of thinking it was only him. Very sad. It's a lesson- appreciate your friends, mentors, parents.

  • Agree 100% on both posts Nomi was the original Team especialy Hoffman, not just Klaus with Big Label & Uncreative session musicians & dancers hired for shows.

But you know its the burden of divas, singers & artists to think & believe at one point that they are larger than life they need to + people tell them:Bono, Madonna,Bowie etc. Some come back to Earth but Klaus died too young to learn from his mistakes like most people, with a few more years by himself, or failures he would have been humble

  • He must have been amazing to watch on stage....what a voice and what a presence...you are a star Klaus.....

  • the winngingest man that ever lived, and if god is a loving god, will live again

  • Well the freak shall inherit the earth now

No matter how well done or rare

But I'm telling you hold on, hold on

    Tomorrow we'll be there

    We'll build our radioactive castles

    out in the radioactive air

And I'm telling you hold on, hold on

    Tomorrow we'll be there

  • Well I told you about the total eclipse now but still it caught you unaware But I'm telling you hold on, hold on Tomorrow we'll be there And even though you went to church upon Sunday you thought you didn't even have a prayer But I'm telling you hold on, hold on Tomorrow we'll be there After the fall we'll be born, born, born again after it all blows away after the fall, after the fall after it all blows away
  • We'll take a million years of civilization

We're gonna give it the electric chair

But I'm telling you hold on, hold on

    Tomorrow we'll be there

I see a hundred million lonely mutants

they are glowing in their dark despair

But I'm telling you hold on, hold on

    Tomorrow we'll be there

  • Its weird how many of his songs apply to current topics.

I made a video last night about last nights election of Obama and defeat of republicans with Ding Dong the Witch is dead.

I could make another vid with Simple Man about Barack and the expectations people have.

Could make another one with After The Fall about the whole Bush & Cheney 8 years + fiasco and the light at the end of the tunnel.

I could make another one with ICUROK etc...timeless Klaus! Wish you were there last night bro!

  • What am saying... i know you were there to witness this moment from up there in Nomi Land

  • Very interesting observation. Any predictions with Nomi Song?

  • Would be about Me, cuz im a Nomi and im hiding my indentity in more ways than one, even on my show people dont know me. :D

  • uber awesome.

  • first vid ive seen of nomi

  • after the fall, we'll be born, born, born again. Tu es vivant, Klaus! LOVE

  • ich auch =)

  • Ich leibe Klaus Nomi!

  • he wuz funny on the venture bros

  • One of New-Wave finest acts.
