You know..I noticed something. WoW players are afraid of this game. This game I believe will be the WoW killer and they also believe it. Yes, it is SWTOR vs. WoW because they are both mmorpgs. Just hearing Alderran, Tatooine, Mandalorians, annoys me. Its like, despite there being a whole galaxy, somehow its really only a small area with a few key places. Like the stupidity of bringing R2D2 and C3PO into the prequel trilogy. No appreciation for the magnitude of the galaxy.
Couldn't agree more, however, if we had ten thousand names for all the planets we'd begin to lose depth in the subsequent stories with those planets and the familiarity that retains interest/emotion.
I think mentioning one or maybe two of them for nostalgia value is cool, but when most of the stuff is related to past stuff and you bring in too many elements, it becomes uncool.
In the prequel trilogy especially, Lucas just went nuts with linking stuff from the original series.
Plus I think, different time periods should have their own dominant planets and issues. So that there is continuity, but also independence in the story.

well, sort of. This is a MMORPG, so your influence in the scenario will be none. So you can compare it to KOTOR, but it isn't a new KOTOR since you aren't necessarily a Jedi.
you are right in half what you said because from what I have read and known this game will focus more on story then on player to player reactions You can do 90% of this game playing alone .I think there will be something like influence since bioware is making this .
@adanos4 Yeah, you're right, the game is focused mainly on story, since a lot of MMO's don't have that good of a story, in this you have a lot of choices, and depending on what you choose, can have a drastic effect on what happens down the line.

In other parts of Star Wars the Republic have failed horribly and only just come back. For example in the movies, the Republic falls to the Sith Empire for many years. The Republic can definitely loose.
we might se re-organizations of the republic by quite simply the sith cant win the war if the sith controlled the galaxy at the time of clone wars for example there would be no sidious no clones, No CIS.
Simply put we might se re-orginizations but we will never the total fall of the republic since that would fk up lore in a billion diffrent ways.
I'm not disappointed by that at all, I'm not a huge fan of him. But I think he will be in TOR in some way or form (Frozen in carbonate, strong enough with the force to live for hundreds of years, traveled in time in the outer galaxy, or even just his dead body) because it's in BioWare's interests to have Revan.
Personally i believe he will be dead around this point. Although we may see him mentioned throughout the game maybe even find some sort of Holocron, or even his spirit. (like with Ajunta Pall in KotoR)

@2airflo There are various professions, both Jedi and Sith classes as well as Smugglers, Bounty hunters, Troopers and Imperial Agents.
Technically you don't die here, you're just "defeated" and respawn at a nearby medcenter.
As for gear, better gear is obtained via both Crafting items yourself or looting gear from Npcs.

well, sort of. This is a MMORPG, so your influence in the scenario will be none. So you can compare it to KOTOR, but it isn't a new KOTOR since you aren't necessarily a Jedi.

you are right in half what you said because from what I have read and known this game will focus more on story then on player to player reactions You can do 90% of this game playing alone .I think there will be something like influence since bioware is making this .

@adanos4 Yeah, you're right, the game is focused mainly on story, since a lot of MMO's don't have that good of a story, in this you have a lot of choices, and depending on what you choose, can have a drastic effect on what happens down the line.

yeah this game will be tight blah blah, but i think to the people who liked the people who liked playing it on a game console will be dissapointed. kotor 2 didnt have the best ending, and i know i wanted more out of it, and this third installment won't really reach outto the poeple who liked it on xbox. get what i'm sayingg? i wish they madee it playable for xbox, with a whole different feature for onlinee. i dunno, ha.

In other parts of Star Wars the Republic have failed horribly and only just come back. For example in the movies, the Republic falls to the Sith Empire for many years. The Republic can definitely loose.

we might se re-organizations of the republic by quite simply the sith cant win the war if the sith controlled the galaxy at the time of clone wars for example there would be no sidious no clones, No CIS.
Simply put we might se re-orginizations but we will never the total fall of the republic since that would fk up lore in a billion diffrent ways.

I'm not disappointed by that at all, I'm not a huge fan of him. But I think he will be in TOR in some way or form (Frozen in carbonate, strong enough with the force to live for hundreds of years, traveled in time in the outer galaxy, or even just his dead body) because it's in BioWare's interests to have Revan.

Personally i believe he will be dead around this point. Although we may see him mentioned throughout the game maybe even find some sort of Holocron, or even his spirit. (like with Ajunta Pall in KotoR)

You're complaining about one of the aspects of just about every game in existance. (MMO, RPG, FPS, RTS etc.)
You play the game. you achieve goals that ultimately lead nowhere, for things you'll never use.
Atleast with this MMO Bioware promise us gripping Storylines for each class.

Those who are smart enough to get this baby for the 360 will be simply playing through the XBL lines. Much more simple, easy and better in terms of cost.
Not to mention Bioware has always made its things multi-platform.

Not True. This game is not to be released for any Console. XBL or not. You will be paying to play.
PS. Good MMO's require a monthly fee. because otherwise they would not keep the servers running for much more than two years. and would no be able to pay the development teams to continually create new updates to advance the game further.

Guildwars, though doesnt have a monthly fee. I do believe there is a one time payment of £20 to play the game.
