frankly,i think the audience participation is killing shows.audiences these days seem to be in attendance to be seen themselves rather than paying any attention to what may be happening on stage.....after all who wants to pay to hear what some bozo in the audience has to yell out....
Damn, I've been making DJ jokes about giving away tickets to see "Oates and Garfunkel (featuring the guy from Milli Vanilli who isn't dead)"... now I have to alter my joke!
You guys should totally interview Jon Lajoie! He probably doesn't have any problems with publicists and stuff and this is the second time one of your guests mentioned him!

As great as your interview was last next week with Rob Reiner, this week's episode with Garfunkel & Oates was the opposite. It is not that there are not funny, but their sophomoric act is not quite that entetaining.
One thing I do not like about podcasts where the podcaster is or was a stand up comedian AND the guest is or was also a stand up comedian is that it seems like they "talk shop" 90% of the show. This podcast is not the only one that does this and I'm not trying to be a negative nancy, but, I feel like I hear way too much about an industry that I care nothing about, I love to laugh, that's why I'm here, but I do not need to know the mechanics of it. Just my two cents.
@badlieutenant13 i see your point, but i find those things interresting interresting, and half the reason i watch KPCS is because of the behind the scenes industry stuff.
Longest intro of my life.

American female comedy duos:
ZaZu Pitts & Patsy Kelly.
Garvin & Byron.
Dressler & Moran.
Lucy & Ethel.
Marshal & Williams ("Laverne and Shirley".)
With Garfunkel and Oates added, that's more than can be counted on one hand.
Sam loses, I win. . . wait, what do I win!?

LOL poor Sam.
The opening schtick for this episode was really great, one of the best on record.
These two are really funny, but the dirty stuff is a bit of a turn-off for me; their natural humor shines bright.

someone said that the Christopher Walken impression is "dated"... I say not at all, it's always real enjoyable.
I like Garfunkel and Oates a great deal.
also... Zooey Deschanel...is...well she's just damned great.

I love the acts you book for the show and how you have actual conversations with them. This is one of the best shows out there.

Great interview, as always. Loved the guests.
The Avenue Q reference just reminded me of "The Internet Is For Porn" which would be a great song for these girls.

Sweet interview.
One day you'll have Larry King, or Paris Hilton, or Justin Bieber, or Demi Moore, or Tyra Banks as a guest, and you'll have to face the music.
