  • I just got a free WFF XXL shirt from work (it was the onnly one left, and no one was bying it) it has a big panda logo on the bottom of it, and its not all that pritty, but when I was given a chanse to have a free shirt, hey, i'm a student, what can I say... And now I know what to actually do with it, without damaging the logo in the bottom! Now all I need is a black top to go with the bottom... I can't wait to use this tutorial ^^

  • beautiful and so easy to do!!!!

  • I quite like the cowl neckline it makes the dress look a little less 1950s working-class-girl and a bit more modern.

  • This is cute and you don't have add the cowl neck if you don't like it you can do anything you want to make it your personal style.

  • I just finished and it looks AMAZING

    thanks threadbanger!

  • I love your tutorials but you guys always make tutorials that need shirts that are bigger than your size, and you do realize that people have pants, and small shirts (that may not fit) they want to make something out of. Can't you make more tutorials that uses small clothes and/or old pants?

  • @whiskers212 that is for you to figure it out, and make your own design. Use some of the techniques and apply.

  • @whiskers212 That's what Goodwill is for.

  • okay, so i pretty much love you with ALL MY HEART!!!! this is soooooooo awesome!!!!! squee!!!

  • I love it!!

    THANKS

  • I gonna make this one!!!

  • i love it! ive never thought of using string like that, i love that idea!

  • GREAT tutorial..well done and easy to follow!

  • So nifty, I really want to make this one.

    :)

  • Excellent idea. I love the tip on sewing the elastic. Gonna give that a try. :)

  • thats awesome!!!!

im DEFINITLELY going to make this

  • I love this concept, it's like wearing an oversized tee out and around but MUCH more socially acceptable! I wish you would make some T-recon postings for kids? Please, please, please, I'm not above begging as you can tell.

  • i kinda dont understand the part where she explained how to sew on the elastic :(

  • soooo cool, i m making this

  • verryy cute, though that dress wouldnt compliment me -_-;

how do the pockets work?! wouldnt they look lumpy from the front under the material, and wouldnt they pop out easily?

wow but did she make a mannequin of her own body!?! she used it to measure the bust..... looked like paper mache.

OMG i want to make one for myself!

that would make sewing a hecka of a lot easer!

    anyone know any tuts?

althought im sure its only wire, and paper mache.... still lol

  • There's Threadbanger one, but I don't know the link... look through the archive and I think it's findable.

  • there is a thread banger tutorial for the mannequin

  • It is called a dress form or body form. If you look around in the videos, there is a tutorial showing how that body form was made. It's sort of a paper mache, only it's made from water activated paper tape. Underneath is only a garbage bag. This is pretty much the same as a duct tape dress form, only this is even more cheap to make.

  • @BleedingSanctuary threadbanger have a tutorial for it!

  • cute <3

  • i did this! it turned out great

  • Oh this uis so cool! I need that dress! it's so spiffy! *_*

  • I made this dress today and it works fantastic! I really love threadbangers and their projects. It took me 1,5 hours to make.

I found a shirt in my closet with a cowl-neckline already, so I didn't have to make it :D.

  • Buenisimo, me puede encantar!!!

    *****

  • lovely dress

  • love this beautiful!!!

  • nice

  • These instructions are confussing to me, I like it better without the cowl neckline.

  • Does anyelse think her voice sounds EXACTLY like Lara Croft from Tomb Raider?

  • You are so very creative! wow! what a wonderful idea for the sleave turn pocket cocept.

  • fantastic video! totally one of my favs ^_^

  • I just made this. Came out awesome.

  • This is so cute I am going to make a few thanks

  • Ohh! Very cute!

  • really cool!

  • this was the best video!!!

  • THE POCKETS!!!! lol so exciting :D

  • Best T-shirt recon ever!

  • I like it, but I wouldn't make the drawstring on the bottom for one for myself. It wouldn't be flattering on my figure. But this look is still very cute.

  • I like the pocket idea, but I don't think the elastic is necessary

  • i think it is, otherwise the dress would just hang there and be WAY too baggy. :P not pretty

  • I've made dresses almost exactly like this before (sans pockets) and you can get the same effect by pleating the skirt in certain places

  • awesome project!! ;)

  • I LOVE IT!!!

  • the pocket idea is GENIUS!! I'm trying this today

  • amazing.

  • awesome! congratulations!

  • After watching threadbanger videos, I really want to learn how to sew. Do you have any rec's for a good beginner's sewing machine/book?

  • Singer makes a good beginner's sewing machine, it will also work well into the intermediate level. i own one as my first (and only) machine, and the only problem i've encountered with it is that it can't handle tough fabrics like leather/suede; but a beginner wouldn't be handling those. once you learn the basics of it, the machine is pretty easy to use. you can find them in sears, target, and crafting stores like Jo-Anns from $90 to $500.

  • im 11 and have gotten a Brother's sewing machine, it works very well but it doesnt handle thick fabrics. but i don't use thick fabrics that often anyway. i definitly recommend it.

  • Brilliant idea. Looking forward to trying it out!

  • Congratulations! I like the dress, and the video was made really professional, too.

  • thats amazing

  • can't wait to try this

  • nice!

  • Yeap definitely cute!!! and I love she got the first place!!

  • Is it my imagination, or do all the really cool designers have British accents? LOL! That was a really sick re-con.

  • I think it would look nice without gathering the bottom too. I like her choice of colors - very sophisticated!

  • very nice.

one of the best t-shirt recons i think i've seen.

  • I loved how you totally showed "Threadbanger fan" items in your vid!

    -the mannequin

    -the safety pin insert

    -the techniques

    Rock on!!

  • wow, definitely first place material. loved it!

  • that a beautiful dress

  • <3 this is great

  • i love it!

  • This is one of the best Threadbanger videos I've seen. It's simple to make and it's wearable. Well done!

  • OMG :) how awesome is that :) 5 starrsss :)

  • Yay! Now I can do a cowl-neck on one of my tees! I've been wanting to do that...

  • That wss great !

seems easy enough to make , abit confusing with the pinning the elastic bit tho =/

I plan to make it with pink and black =]

  • this is so nice, really chic. you can imagine having to pay quite a bit of money for something like this! she's really welll spoken as well! i think i will make this if i can convince my dad to give me some more of his t-shirts :)

  • There's the thrift store too. ;p $2 tees.

  • Gorgeous!! I imagine the one I'll be making will have bright colors and patterns...that will look super cute! (This one did, too, though!)

  • Definitely something I'd like to try! Very, very nice outcome! Everything in the tutorial was great except for the "pinning the elastic" part (2:40 - 2:57)

  • awesome idea~

  • Girl's clothing just doesn't feature pockets as much as it should....great idea!

  • Even though I didn't like the dress she made, I will do this tutorial to fit the style I want to make! This is was the best tutorial I've seen.
