This is truly sad. All this from someone who obviously has no idea what the Tea Party actually is, a loose knit group of voters who are deeply dissatisfied with our various political representatives and their "Business as usual" attitude.

If you are fed up with politicians who forget campaign promises as soon as they are elected you may be part of the Tea Party.

All those western european nations show that Ron Paul libertarianism can be wildly successful. You think they're socialist democracies? The US spends about as much (47% GDP - federal,state local spending) as those nations do. The difference? Their "federal government" (The EU) only spends about 1% of their GDP - that's what Ron Paul advocates - a small central govt and states free to decide their own policies.

Differences include much lower military spending, much more homogeneous and white population, and protectionist trade policies.The Tea Party isn't corporatist - the repub and dem parties are. It of course follows that the phony tea partiers, the neocon republicans who pretended to be tea partiers, are corporatist. All the western EU countries are libertarian - very small EU

Their government spent tons of money in education, health care, transportation, alternative energy, eco-prisons, regulations, infrastructures, food quality (Denmark banned transfat) and their ROI is huge. They pay in taxes 100 time less for 1 job, 5 weeks holidays, 35 h work and a valid retirement plan than what you pay in premiums and loans for 2-3 jobs, 70h/week work (third world country), no holidays and zero services unless you co-pay on top of premiums

Even if Obama passes regulations and universal health care, each state government can overrid everything they want. They incresed taxes (check your state taxes vs your federal taxes lowered 27 times by Obama), check how they limit civil rights for women, gays, minorities and change electoral rules so that old people, minorities and students cannot go to vote !!!!!

@mrfreedomdemocracy1 I'm not against big government - i'm against a big federal government. I believe the states should be free to decide their own policies. If a state has bad policies, you can vote with your feet - move to another state.Obama lowering taxes? Utterly meaningless. Only lowering spending is meaningful, because every penny the feds spends will be paid sooner or later, in one form or another. I do believe in protecting elections - requiring id's. No shirt no shoes no service.

@megagagnon1 Our national debt is approaching 14 Trillion and is relatively in the middle of the field when it comes to First World Countries at 63% of GDP. 14 Trillion/.63 = 22.22 Trillion (our GDP in this country). /4.4 Trillion (our annual budget average recently)/22.22 = 19.81% spending versus GDP. Given that state taxes are in all cases less than Federal (usually less than half even) or NON EXISTENT. Given that Local Sales is fixed. You = FULL OF SHIT! QUIT LYING TO SERVE YOUR CAUSE!
