it's great that we finally have the western front in RO.. the bad thing is that the DH community, or at least those who actually play it, are infested with some right wing extremist scum.. :E 60% of the time if you see a person wearing a SS tag, that person probably has a huge swastika in his living room. The game is nice but I hate it how it's filled with Waffen-SS Die PanzerArchloch Die Homomannen clans one after another.. there were other units fighting in the western front.. not just the SS.

Can anyone tell me how can I set the target distance in allied tanks? Please don't come with Q and E, these keys don't work.

You can't set the range on the American tanks. They use a different kind of sight (called a "non" ballistic sight). All you need to do is line up the numbered range mark with your target and fire (4 = 400 yards, 6 = 600 yards, 8 = 800 yards, and so).

with the aliied tanks its mainly about guessing the range man thats how i do it

@bakvarnyu for some of the allied tanks they did not have adjustable sights. You just used the stadia gradients by judging the distance. Tankers would use a choke method on a target then determine the distance. I know sounds complicated but some practice you will get it.

Because it wasn't up to scratch. We only have a couple of mappers and a lot of work is required to get them up to a Steam quality standard. Omaha will make a comeback, but it's just not ready and won't be for a while yet.

Too late for me! After realizing not too much has changed with the damned bugs in this mod , I'm finally giving up on this and will sell RO as well - overall it has disappointed me and I'm sick of this disgusting graphics! Even BF 1942 which is from 2002 has better graphics than this and is more fun to play - sry guys I'm out! But all a question of taste and just my opinion...

Nowadays though I recommend u guys to have a look on ArmA 2 Mods (Invasion 1944, Fields of War Normandy) and the upcoming game "Iron Front" - and then tell me what you say about that... First you need Red Orchestra. Once you have that download Darkest Hour via Steam. Make sure all preexisting Darkest Hour folders are deleted to make sure it installs correctly (particularly Beta 2.0 if you have that).

A fine Mod off of RO. What it lacks is YOU. There is a great concept that goes with this game that after you join up with any of the fine squads/clans you will see, its a form of realism. A strong CPU will bring out all the fun of this game.

Cant wait to try out the new Tiger 2 and the new tank mechanics. Just hope the optics are not as big(line thickness) and that the cannon dosent have as much spread as the Jagdpanther. Btw, how about some tank maps. Theres a whole small crowed of peeps playing tank only in RO vanilla.

DoD:S is a TF2 game based in WWII now because of the Orange Box Updates. DH is a more realistic and more capable game for units to be a part of. Tanks, artillery, bigger servers, bigger maps. It's what you want in a WII game that you want to have a unit in.

I think you'll find that every mod out there, for almost every major game uses a Beta versioning system. It's not really a full release if they've got more content coming down the pike, is it ? ;)

As it was said on their forums today, the change log is so huge between 2.0 and 3.0 the entire internet would crash if you posted it. Hyberbole aside, I'll looking forward to this.

Just to clear something up BigHase, Alpha's come before Beta's, which means they are usually more buggy than beta's.

And to answer your question, we have gone a long way to find and fix any bugs in there. You should see a new, improved version of DH, smoothed out as much as possible.
