I've always loved 1911's. I don't own one, plan to change that in the near future, but not now. I shot my uncle's and my dad's growing up. Fun pistols. My grandfather also has a smith and Wesson 1076 10mm that he wants to give me. All awesome guns
This is a solid pistol, i got one this week put 200 rounds through it, after cleaning before and slightly filing the barrel feed down it worked perfect, bout 150 rounds later of course it started jammin because of the carbon build up but for a 1911 A1 for under 500, this is a steal.
beautiful gun, as a respecting follower of gunblast, I picked this weapon up- beautiful, accurate and has amazing craftmanship- Turkey has been creating weapons of high quality for centuries-not to be confused with china and phillipines- Turkey is right up there and this 1911 is exactly as GB says- DANDY :)
i want a 1911 45. im trying to decide between this or a RIA 1911. Im kinda hesitant about this one because it is made by an airpistol company. Which would you prefer?
Very tight tolerances, Solid, Superbly built, 100% functioning flawlessly with quartar inch group at 25 yards, Very Beautiful and if this exact weapon was made by any other manufacturer if would be over 1,700$ . My two cents, cheers :)
im looking for a 1911 on a budget i came up with this or rock island arms id puffer to buy American but i don't have the money for a colt or kimber. would you suggest this over a rock island.
"Bar stock" means that the slide is machined from a bar of steel, usually bought in long lengths of twenty feet or so. A section is cut off, and the slide is machined from this section of steel.
I am sorry to be asking a question out of context. I am wanting to know if there is a lever action .22 with a loading gate rather than an under the barrel loading tube?
im am a fan jeff, but i have a question for ya. have yoou had a chance to handle a bersa thunder uc in 45 cal. and if so what do you think of it as a carry weapon?
I love all of your vids ,but out of both of the 1991 series 80 colts (blued or stainless) which one do you prefer ?? , I could get either one of them the fact is I just cant make up my mind which one is better and holds it's value. Please help!
I would say neither. "Better' means different things to different people. It depends upon your particular needs. I prefer the upgraded features on the Taurus myself, but another shooter might prefer the classic style of the Regent.
Jeff, you have slightly larger hands than me....were u getting hammer bite there? i ask because i think i want to get this particular 1911 and if you are not getting hammer bite, then i dont think i would either
It is available from Seven Brothers Mercantile (sevenbros-dot-com) for only $5.99. Measures 3x5 feet with 2 grommets. Search for "M4 Come and Take It Flag", item number fsh-m4. We have no financial interest, it's just a cool flag that everyone should own.
@Gunblastdotcom Trying to grab my dealer so I can get a G.I. Expert. Everything is out Colt, Springfield. If I knew this would be this hard I'd have ordred something 2 years ago.
I'd send ya my Para Ordnance LTC to try out if I could Jeff :D Even a crappy shooter like me has no problem putting all the shots where it matters at 20 yards. Handles like a dream.
Good review too, you always do more in 3 minutes or less then some reviewers do it 20 minutes.
Just brought this one from Academy Sports

Both are good pistols. neither is made by an airpistol company. Umarex is a distributor of this 1911, but does not make it.

The Regent is a very good choice. Also look at the Firestorm.

@Gunblastdotcom Bar Stock slide, what's that? How was the process like to be called in such name?
Can we put more powerful springs, minor mod and fire the .45 Super in this thing?

@Gunblastdotcom How tough is it, Jeff?
Will it fit for anything "more" than just .45 ACP?
1stMarineCapt 8 months ago
Yes, the R100 can take any of the popular souped-up 45 auto cartridge conversions available.

@Gunblastdotcom You know the Buffalo Bore .45 Super?

I have not tried it.
Jeff

@Gunblastdotcom Haven't I, too. I heard the thing is real powerful, more than the .45 ACP but under the .460 Rowland. Hope this thing can take it.

100 years old and still relevant (the 1911 not Jeff)........Can't think of anything we use today 100 years old except maybe Aspirin?

@zerofrindz don't forget Browning's other timeless classic ma-2 50 caliber michine gun, almost 100 years and still #1

I prefer the stainless, just for ease of maintenence and longer-lasting finish, if carried concealed.

Jeff, I was wondering if there is a 1911 style pistol with out a grip saftey, I cant find one for the life of me. Thank You
RiveRat1986 11 months ago
A 1911 without a grip safety would NOT be a 1911.
Gunblastdotcom 11 months ago
@RiveRat1986
Closest you can get to that is a Browning Hi-Power.
Some,not me,call it a 1911 Improved.
