Chicken girls legs, if his body was proportioned, i.e. if he had trained legs too, not only his upper body, he wouldn't be able to do many of the things he does.
im 6''2 and weigh 97kg, around 200lbs. i can do roughly 4 sets of 8 chin ups with good form. any tips for how to improve significantly? would appreciate any ideas and tips, thanks.
@Mishakis aside from stating the obvious, you've also misunderstood what i asked. i was asking for recommended variations, or different routines, or exercises to superset with chinups. not someone to say "get lighter, it will help" thats no use as im currently using a hypertrophy programme.
Nice work man :) I am trying to follow in your footsteps and am psyched with the possibilty of being able to do muscle ups thanks to your videos. However, I have another question. This pseudo back lever... I can`t even begin to imagine to do this routine :) Can you offer a few tips?
Very good. And it IS practical. If you want to know how to work up to this level (which is quite advanced, don't let it put you off), read Building The Gymnastic Body by Coach Sommer. And visit his forum, for discussions, ideas on daily workouts, etc.
Be warned though: gymnastics means DISCIPLINE. But then again, anything that brings results requires discipline.
awesome workout. front lever and one arm chinups are impressive. i actually used to be a gymnast for Penn State (class of '81). used to pull to a solid front lever on the rings as my first move. that high bar looks like the old fashioned ones we used to use when i first started in the German Turners club in the 70s. they've come a long way with the equipment since then.
see bodybuilding is all about getting in shape safely, them clap pullups. are just dangerouse and stupid lmao its not exactly educating any 1. And who has that set up lol,so its showing off and i hate ppl who show off so this isnt for me
Deep Respect for anyone who can work the bar like you do in this video. Pull Up Bar is part my routine too and I feel it is pivotal in keeping me in the shape I am in.
nice workouts and all, but this isn't practical for the everyday person with their busy life scedule...not hating or anything, just saying normal gym workouts are good enough for me. these bar gymnastics bar workouts are more for serious athletes or those trying to quality for the Olympic Games, I'm not one of those people...but respect and keep up the good work!
@iclark2400 I understand your point, but I am PRECISELY an everyday person with busy lifestyle! I am not a professional athlete! Right now I am being a manager in a software company. There's a hell lot of things I am in charge of daily. These videos and workouts are something I do for fun in my free time. If you are interested you can achieve the same results! :)
The songs' names are listed at the end of the video. Good luck! :)
@closetoimpossible fair enough, I thought u were some kind of athlete that had dreams of reaching the Olympics one day or something! haha...well you seem to have good time management skills to be able to balance these tough workouts with your work as a manager (wow respect) but I'm more interested in building muscle mass, do these workouts help? I think they are more for flexibility which is a good thing too, I might incorporate them into my routine as it looks fun! found the song, cheers :)
@iclark2400 you obviously are not a very good athlete....everyone knows that chin ups and pull ups are one of the most needed of all weight trainers/bodybuilders...this guy is showing some amazing variations and tweaks and tricks to make the pull ups and chin ups even more effective and more fun and challenging.
@JKDspirit yeah I admit that I'm a very good or well built athlete, I'm just into weight training atm and used to train hard but stopped for a year and started back again about 6 months back so I'm getting back in the cycle and trying to learn new ways to improve my physique...this guy in the video is very fit and trains hard, so its obvious that what he is doing works too...yes no doubt chin ups and pull ups are essential but they are quite hard to do, I guess I need to train more often :P
@iclark2400 I started calisthenics an year ago and now I am doing the same tricks you see there, my front lever is just straddle tho. Two years ago I was obese with no muscle at all so I did not have any kind of natural talent with this kind of stuff because I spent my youth with video games and not in any sports. I overcame lack of natural talent with hard work and dedication... and it is incredible where I am now as 20y old. Hard work will always surpass natural talent.
@iclark2400 I went to school from 8 to 4 everyday, homework and shit and I hit the gym 4 times a week... even 5 sometimes.
Now I work 8-10 hours sometimes @ week and specially days when I workout, still got time to it, just need to plan it ut and it will work for you! good luck :9
@iclark2400 not necessarily true, it has more to do with his size, he's pulling up 160 lbs, i'm just as strong as him, but i'm pulling up 220 lbs, so i can't do all this fancy stuff, but if you want to do lat pulldowns, i'm game
Thanks for the message. I like the workouts incorporating even some plyo into the bar exercises, but I dont see how applicable this could be the majority of the population. I wouldn't have my clients that I have now do these exercises lol
@EliHaynez does it matter if he can squat? I've been trained by a professional on how to do so, and I personally don't like the exercise. Even if you use proper form, it can be devastating to your back. Our spines have evolved to walk on all fours, like a horse. Our spines are not designed to take the huge compressive loads generated by squats.
@sNaYkE15 im just saying that a lot of people only focus on their upper body and ignore their lower body. nothing against him personally, it was more of a general comment

Hi! I am interested in doing Pseudo Back Lever Pull Ups.Can you please make a tutorial with proper form and how to get strenght for it? Or If u can't please send me a message with key points. Thanks.
@spagatu Perhaps I can do a video about it, but from the look of things it won't be anytime soon. I think I'll send you some key points for now. hopefully that will be enough of a helper. :)
@chinesep1mp I am using a Shiek belt. Please check the video responses to this video. I think you might save some money for the weighted chin-ups/dips work. :)
Thanks a lot for the videos :) I have a question, I am going to build a pull up setup like you. What should be the diameter of the pipe I do pull ups on?
@exnol You are welcome. :) As for the diameter of the pipe you should choose whatever feels comfortable to you. It shouldn't be too thick, nor too thin. If you are unsure you can go to any playground with pull-up bars and take some measurements. It really isn't all that important because you'll get used to it pretty soon after you start training on it.
