The contrast between Peter Hook & Steve Morris driving away on bass and drums, respectively, and Gillian Gilbert calmly playing the keyboards couldn't be more striking.
Movement was one of my favorite albums during my senior year of HS (98-99). Every song on this album takes me back! This is an especially good live performance. I agree with many that Bernard's vocals are cringing, but who listens to New Order primarily for the vocals?
Just for conversational purposes, I spilt capuccino on my copy of Movement in Nov. 1999. I did not my copy until September of 2007. I am so glad I did; I forgot how wonderful this album is.
use to have this whole show on VHS (can't recall name of video) it was filmed in NY i believe, the intro of the video started with this clip, why don't they just re-release it again on dvd.....ugh!
Movement was the last bit of Joy Divsion left before N.O. fell off and went euro-disco (sorry, my opinion). Really enjoy this album and this performance, but as usual, Sumner's vocals make me cringe.
My favourite song from their (strange) debut album. Clever use of the bass guitar, playing high notes with an unusual tecture whilst the bottom end is played on the keyboards.
This is fucking brilliant.
