In the Indian army despite having more than 5 regiments of Ghurkas, the most highly decorated soldiers are in fact the Sikh regiment. Even Victoria cross wise, the Sikh regiments were generally considered more capable soldiers. The British army should a dedicated Sikh regiment on the lines of the Ghurka regiments given the large community of British Sikhs.

Love these guys, they moved out a regular infantry regiment out of a local town near where I use to live and moved in Gurkhas...the crime rate dropped considerably, very polite, hard working and hygenic people in the UK, the more ex-Gurkhas that are allowed to retire to the UK the better.

yea its about 1500 now but they still get very less pension then the british soldiers. back when my dad was in army he used to get pension of about 10pounds a month. well now its increased to about 100

Love these guys, they moved out a regular infantry regiment out of a local town near where I use to live and moved in Gurkhas...the crime rate dropped considerably, very polite, hard working and hygenic people in the UK, the more ex-Gurkhas that are allowed to retire to the UK the better.

Im am currenlty serving in the queens own gurkah logistic regiment, and am deploying to afganistan in august with them, and as this video states they are amazingly polite kind and gentle, until you disrespect them or the family. and then, the next thing you know you will end up waking up in the medical centre with broken bones haha but serioulsy it is an hounour serving alongside these magnificant people, to all gurkas reading this, namestay, not sure if that is spelt right lol

its a great honour for these men to be a member of the british army and one of the few regts that are always at full strength because of the large number of volenteers,these men are loved and respected by the british public due to thier bravery and loyalty to the crown except for a slight difference in pay (which i dont agree with)these lads dont get treated any better or worse than any other infantry regt and no way get used for any dirty work,great soldiers ive got alot of respect for them
