  • ummmmm 25 people must be freakin disabled!

  • id do her...

  • my two idols........

  • ahh god idina really looks like lea michelle...I like kristin a lot, such a wonderful Broadway performer.

  • 25 ARE NOT POPULAR

  • 25 people wish they were popular.

  • Why are they so perfect?

  • i saw this in london but im from texas!

  • if kristin threw her stick i'd catch it and worship it like a god.

  • @xoxocutie6 me toooo(: hahahaha

  • Indina Menzel is the best Elphaba! She takes my breath away!

  • i would like it but i can't HEAR it

  • @awkando1 Nice... ha!

  • @awkando1 They are for a particular type of people who can appreciate art and talent. Don't worry, you'll never understand..it takes a sense of sophistication to enjoy.

  • @RainbowLovesU307 Haha! I want to steal all costumes and props from wicked =/

  • @xoxocutie6 in new york its a pretty busy city....everyones going places....but i agree with you!

  • @xoxocutie6 No one knew them then. Now if they did this it would be covered in people.

  • APRIL!!

  • 2:49 That's the face I make when my mom tries to put make-up on me.

  • I seen this on broadway and it looks like the same broads. lol

  • Chenoweth is hot.

  • is that the girl from sunny with a chance

  • @Donkapus Wtf... no xD

  • @LadyVanHelsing if you watch some other videos, that is planned

  • Is Kristin's singing voice naturally that grating (for lack of a nicer word) in the lower part of her register or does she act out that voice? Btw Kristin... Nice save at 2:29

  • 3:50 Idina looks ready to cry. I bet it's the pink flower! :(

  • Lol. Kayne West used this as a sample and created a killer instumental

  • Its way better on stage. The whole musical is amazing id just watch it over and over again if i could

  • did she almost trip at one point?

  • @Inuyasha1o

Yep. (during the "lala"s) But at least she stayed in character.

  • @Inuyasha1o part of the act...sort of.

  • @Inuyasha1o thats planned in other videos tooo

  • thumbs up if Elphaba is beautiful just the way she is :)

  • 23 people aren't that popular...

  • I saw Wicked yesterday and absolutely LOVED this song. Thank you for posting!

  • It's kind of cute seeing Glinda the good witch being adorably ditzy like that 8D

  • what an AMAZING performance

  • nothing beats the originals. they're the real deal.

  • I love both of the actresses, particularly Idina. But I don't really understand the hype about Wicked. It's fun, and definitely a cool take on the Wizard of Oz, but I think it just fits today's pop culture, I can't see it becoming a classic.

  • @smccoli230 You don't see it becoming a classic? It ALREADY is.

  • @powchowder124

No. It's not. It hasn't lasted any significant amount of time. And being adored by teenage girls and sensationalist media does NOT make a classic. Good day to you.

  • @smccoli230

Wicked has been broadway's top selling show for two years. In 2006 it became the highest grossing show ever. Over two million people have seen it (so there goes your sensationalist media and teenage girls idea). It's also the highest grossing show in the West End, ever. Maybe it will withstand the test of time, maybe it won't... but it's definately a classic.

  • @smccoli230 Ummm... I'm a 15 year old male (perfectly straight), and I loved that musical as much so as Lloyd Webber's "Phantom of the Opera", as the 1967 version of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown", and as much as the classic :Music Man".

  • Ha Galinda is so funny. Brilliant performance. Love this song,

  • Hard to imagine a time when people would have been walking by uninterested in what was taking place. Obviously Wicked had just had opened and most folks were unfamiliar with Idina or Kristin. If this had been six months later, they would have had to shut down a couple of blocks because of the crowd.

  • the role of Glinda was made for Kristin

  • lol the crowed can't stop to see the amazing Kristin ans Idina their shopping is way to more important!

  • Hm.... I knida think the other actress is funnier as Galinda....

  • @TheBlueGirl100 the one in the toronto show, Chandra Lee Schwartz?

  • omg she's in glee and i'm only after copping on!!

  • I'm going as Elphaba this halloween! :D

  • Kristin is the best of the best.....

  • original broadway cast - amazing....

lucy durack australian glinda... even better :)

lucy gets so much more into it then kristen but i guess she plays the character a bit differently to that :)

  • I am in this musical thing and i am the witch because i didnt want to sing by myself and lol keep clicking 00:46 LOL she will eat your face off

  • Where is the hudge crowd! ITS GODDAHM KRISTIN AND IDINA!

  • you can tell how hard Idina is trying not to laugh so much. It shows the friendship that her and Kristin had - i'm just gutted i never got to see them perform together :(

  • it was raining hard

  • lol this is PRUE EPICNESS!!!! and they were both on glee. thats whut every1 always notices.

  • i love how popular this musical became and yet still when they went on the today show nobody was out to watch it.

  • There's like....NO ONE outside watching them! Could you imagine if those two came back and did that nowadays? It would be mayhem! lol

  • You can tell that this was a clip from when the musical first came out.If it would have been any time around these days, there would be fans blocking traffic, screaming and the streets would look like times square around new years.

  • @amidola LOOOOOOOOL nicely put! one of those fans would be me :)

  • I went to see this at sydney. :) I give it 10/5 ;D

  • I think something's wrong with the people in the background just walking by!!

  • You HAVE to look up Brianna Bishop. She sung this song on Australia's Got Talent and OMG. You just have to watch it. She is so amazing!

  • its ok, the 20 people who disliked this video. I know you accidentally hit the wrong button.

  • @Rory875 It's twenty three now. And still counting.

  • @Rory875 25

  • she isnt as good as lucy durack! she is the best glinda :D

  • Kristin looks to old to be in collage.. unless she was a professor

  • love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • idina menzel and kristin chenoweth are by far the best elphaba and glinda eer to grace broadway! NO CONTEST. they ARE elphaba and glinda~

-poor kristin, she had to perform in that spaghetti strap dress when it was cold and rainy and everyone else was wearing coats!

  • @defygravitybewicked That's what makes Kristin a pro, her able to stay in character despite the cold. Plus with her singing upside down on a bed at the end. NOT easy to do. xD;

  • this soing was on australer got talent. breana saing it

  • Best Galinda/Glinda EVER! She's amazing!

  • I saw this musical, IT WAS AWESOME!!!!

  • lol kristin is good at being glinda- glindas so dumb its funny

  • kristin is the best.

  • 3.55 she looks sooooo much like rachel berry

  • I love Isena and Kristen's voices they sound amazing, kristen is just adorable and Idena has so much spunk they make a great pair

  • is she doing this live? if so she's really good!

  • Who tried to AutoTune here? . . . NBC Tsk Tsk

  • I havn't seen the play of this yet but from this it dosesn't seem like the book at all! It still looks cute though. I guess a musical version of this had to change their attitudes to make it more fun. lol but still everyone should read the book!

  • What a brilliant song. Haven't seen this musical, but thats a really great song.

  • are these people from glee

  • @moroccandeserts no it's an actual cast

  • @KWaters022 i know but i mean kristin and idena they were both on glee..once atleast,, funny

  • @moroccandeserts yeah they've been guest stars in glee, idina is rachel's mom and kristin is mr. shue's highschool friend

  • @temozachika i know ive seen all episodes..i just love how ironic it is that they sing defying gravity..in glee the song that these ppl (kristin and idina) sing in the musical

  • I wish I could go again! <3'd it!!!

  • I LOVE "Popular". I'm not popular,But i love this song!

  • i need to see this show!

  • aww when she said "you're beautiful" the green one's hair blew in the wind~ so cute ^_^

  • "ball gown! ball gown!.... is this thing on???" hahahahaha loooove WICKED!!!

  • i thought that the wicked witch of the west was supposed to be REALLLY ugly??

  • I'm going to see it this july. Saw it with my class a few years ago.

  • Saw it live (: It kind of sucked cause we were at the very top and couldn't see much. It was flawless though!

  • I find it amazing someone can prance around in heels.

  • london cast are so much better :)

  • I've been to that musical twice now :) it's really , really good .

  • show was amazing! went in london in june! well worth the money id go again!

  • I love this musical :P saw it today

  • I LOVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE this musicall. Its amazinng <3 i wish i could see it every weeekend !

  • I'm seeing Wicked tomorrow!!!!

  • i <3 thia musical

  • Gotta love Chenoweth, an acting goddess! Wicked is my favorite performance of hers, but the 2003 The Music Man comes in a close second.

  • You and ever other Kristen Chenowith fan need to listen to her sing "Glitter And Be Gay" from Candide. It's on youtube. I think you'll find it to be a good contender for your second-favorite Chenowith performance :P

  • Theatre of this Calibre costs.....a whole lot of Money! Culture doesn´t come for free!

Every single Show of Wicked means a Day of Work for about 200 People, plus hundreds of Tons of Equipment...

You should be happy to pay 85 Dollars to see this Production!

  • you can do it cheaply. trust me i know what goes into a show like this and i know how much money is wasted on luxury and lavish. Ive worked for companies that run sound, stage and lighting and have been behind the scenes. i use to eat extremely pricey buffet food all the time and get paid 25 dollars an hour because of the union. now im not gonna say it wasnt nice but i certainly didnt work that hard for it and 75 percent of the day everyones doing absolutely nothing.

  • Oh shut up !!..

  • @eric1524 do not swer

  • @brandonskywalker wish job like that, I wish I had money

  • and btw dont get all elitist on me. i hate when people say shit like "culture doesnt come free." you have no clue what you are talking about. you cant buy culture you idiot.

  • Culture - * Excellence of taste in the fine arts and humanities, also known as high culture (so you are saying the more expensive it is the higher the caliber*) * An integrated pattern of human knowledge, belief, and behavior that depends upon the capacity for symbolic thought and social learning(So you can buy belief and behavior and social learning?) * The set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterizes an institution, organization or group

    use words you know.

  • the british version is good too, but you really can't deny that Kristen Chenoweth sounds amazing!

  • Went to go see it at PPAK Providence

  • I just saw this show in Providence and I have to say, this Glinda doesn't hold a candle to the one who played in Providence. Not even close. Love this show, though.

  • but just so you know, the Glinda in the video, kristin chenoweth was the original Glinda

  • @missy0042 Haha yeah, I got chewed out by my more Wicked-educated friends when I told them that. I stand by it, though, the Providence one was a better actor XD

  • @ShadowEcho

i see where you're coming from:) everyone is going to like the one they saw better.

  • I just saw Wicked in Providence too! I agree that the Glinda was better acting wise (she had more bubbliness) but I think Kristin's singing is better.

  • haha. no one beats Kristin

  • Personal opinion, my friend, personal opinion ^_^ I'm not saying Kristin was bad, I just enjoyed the acting of the new Glinda far more.

  • @cali19nr only idina menzel

  • it kinda breaking up

  • I have huge respect for anyone who can perform that well under those conditions. Man, these are superstars of the stage and they are performing on a dinky little stage out in the street - well done!

  • This was the greatest Broadway Show ever!!!

    Fantastic

    Excellent Songs........

    It was WICKEDXD

  • Is Glinda Kristin Chenoweth and Elphaba Idina Menzel?

It looks like it to me, but my computer doesn't have to best quality.

I would have never thought that these two women, who I have seen on the big screen, would be on broadway. It's so amazing to see how actresses and actors can transition from the screen to the stage. They're amazing!

  • He says that's who it is at the beginning of the video.

I think the transition is amazing as well.

    = )

  • Thats right...Chenoweth is Glenda and Idin is Elphaba. I think that both these women got thier start on Broadway and made the jump to movies. I know that Idina was in the Broadway version of RENT as well as the movie version, but I'm not sure about Kristin. But they are both amazing!!!!

  • @pixigrl26 Kristin played Lily St. Reges in the remake of Annie.

  • thanks...I will definately have to check her out in that!!

  • @catchin4alivin Yup, that's them. :3

  • if you like this song, my high school did a music video a few years ago. I have it posted on my youtube channel

  • i cant wait till january when i c it again

  • are they even wearing microphones? I love the show and Idina, and i guess understand the logical issues with live outdoor sets but i'm also really against lipsyncing and fake 'live' features! Anyone more intelligent than me know?

  • they must be wearing mics because kristin changes the lyrics

she says " that hair" 1:39 and in the recording it is "how to fix your hair"

  • It's kinda obvious no? >.>

  • my comment is a reply to an other comment that was saying that the song is a play-back. an i say it's not. see?

  • I know, I'm backing you up.

  • they wear them under their wigs so that you can't seem them. on some of kristin's close ups you can see the mic just poking out. xox

  • idinas head is a strange shape but shes pretty

  • AHHH! It's been a dream of mine to watch the musical with the whole cast...I love this musical soooo much~!

  • awsome!!! love it

  • why does elpheba say "i have to go" ?

  • I guess because no-one has told her she is beautiful and she is overwhelmed by the comment that she might cry.

  • i saw the show and there was no real reason like a place to be or anything. To me, partially since i had read the book, it came off as her not being comfortable accepting the compliment. I mean she is like the least popular girl in school and fawning under the attention would be like holding up a neon sign saying "hey, i care what you think of me, yes you do have that power over me", it opens her up to being affected if Glinda or the others turn face and start hating her again.

  • Porfavor q vengan a chile porfavor nadie nunka viene a chile siempre va na argentina brasil q vengan para aka porfavorrrrrrr

  • i liked the cast when i went to see it better...

  • This is the original cast. They cut out some of the parts that they do during a normal show, but these two by far had the best chemistry and best vocals.

  • What year was this?

    Awesome performance, as usual.

I love Kristin and Idina. <3

  • in reply to doc94 if they screw up oh well you coudn't do it in the first place and secon they have to rush they dont have the same amount of time on a news show with requierd commercials that they have on stage

  • Oh God! Dind't she play on Pushing Daisies???? Cool!!!!! XD

  • i like this

  • watching it on broadway is so much better

    but still its alright

  • mannomann... Die amerikanische Glinda hat ja eine schreckliche quitschige Stimme, klingt ja wie eine Ente im Zeichentrick. DA singt Lucy Scherer in der deutschen Version deutlich schöner...
