No, you cannot read this comfortably in direct sunlight, despite what the reviewer says. There is very significant glare (reflection) -- much more than any of the other e-ink screens that I tried, including the Kindle. I love the stylus and the ability to write notes directly on the book pages (just like the real thing), which you cannot do with the Kindle or Nook, but the high-glare screen is an overwhelming negative.

I had one. The glare outweighs its nice features. No matter how I positioned myself in any lighting condition I can always see my image when reading books. If you like this dont order online but go to your local store and see for yourself the glare that I am talking about. I returned mine after a day of agony. I have now a humble Nook and Im very happy with it.

The glare is the only real con for this e-book reader, i just ordered mine. I doubt the glare will be such a huge issue, and if it is i can just buy an anti glare film.

This would be a great gadget, but the screen glares so much that it's pointless, as you can't use it under a lamp or in the sun.

No, it doesn't have WiFi...and that's a problem compared to the Kindle...however, I have handled both divices for quite a while now and I find that I always go back to the Sony first...it look better, it's smaller, it's more intuitive, etc...you quickly realise that you don't need the WiFi

This is totally awesome, I want a ebook, thinking of sony as sony is a good brand, but its a pit price, around £250 for a ebook, and with that money I can do alot of thinks like buy ipod touch or ps3. I love reading but its a bit expensive, might conside it if it around around 150 so I might look at other options. good review
