easiest way to check is to buy a boost leak tester. If you dont have one i'd check all vac lines make sure theyre on and makes sure theres no leaks on the actual lines itself. sometimes you can hear boost leaks at idle pop the hood and listen for any hissing in the engine bay. Dont go wot until the leaks are fixed because in order for your car to try to reach its boost target the turbo is going to be working a lot harder.
Theirs a little nozzle that pokes out of the intercooler pipeing on the return side that the rubber was dry rotted so I replaced it
