Eventually they will ditch the whole christian thing hopefully.... then they can get signed to a real lable and start making real money and start doing real tours. They don't belong with the other queer bands like haste the day and shit like that. They should be touring with Testament or something.
They have no reason to ditch the "christian thing". It's a lifestyle not a disease that detracts records and label companies. And furthermore there are plenty of bands that have toured worldwide, play "real tours", get paid, are well known, and are signed by respectable labels. As I Lay Dying is one good example, they have toured worlwide, are well known and respected as one of the best metal bands in the business, and guess what... They are heavily professed Christians.

@person3213 It's pretty cut and dry as to the point i'm making. Metal bands, even good ones like The Showdown, have a tough time getting off their feet in the music industry. In the music biz which is innundated with tons of garbage "musicians" some fall throguh the cracks. It makes it even harder for a band to succeed if they are on a lable attached to a religion. I have a lot of respect for these guys, (all 4 albums) and I just wanna see them have a better chance at making it than they have.

Eventually they will ditch the whole christian thing hopefully.... then they can get signed to a real lable and start making real money and start doing real tours. They don't belong with the other queer bands like haste the day and shit like that. They should be touring with Testament or something.

They have no reason to ditch the "christian thing". It's a lifestyle not a disease that detracts records and label companies. And furthermore there are plenty of bands that have toured worldwide, play "real tours", get paid, are well known, and are signed by respectable labels. As I Lay Dying is one good example, they have toured worlwide, are well known and respected as one of the best metal bands in the business, and guess what... They are heavily professed Christians.

@SpiritusInfernio I've met As I Lay Dying. They are not as "Christian" as they may say. There are a lot of bands out there that use the term "Christian" as a ploy to get a certain bracket of the musical demographic to listen to them...

@Metalmalitia141 who says you have to be on a christian label to be christian? probably 5 out of every 10 christian bands are on "secular" labels. the three times i've seen them i've heard the same thing each time, "we do this for Jesus Christ, we wouldn't be here without his help." not exact wording everytime but thats what they've said. so trying to insult what i have HEARD and KNOW, accept the fact you don't know everything. try not to be a douche next time.

These guys have the potential to be on a big label like Nuclear Blast, or Road Runner, but ebcause they stick to the christian thing, they are stuck on a shitty label. Its pretty fucking simple. All you jesus humpers out there are just so fucking excited that there is a good band that is on one of your shitty labels. They will fall through soon with out enough money, with jesus' help or not. @person3213 It's pretty cut and dry as to the point i'm making. Metal bands, even good ones like The Showdown, have a tough time getting off their feet in the music industry. In the music biz which is innundated with tons of garbage "musicians" some fall throguh the cracks. It makes it even harder for a band to succeed if they are on a lable attached to a religion. I have a lot of respect for these guys, (all 4 albums) and I just wanna see them have a better chance at making it than they have.

@Metalmalitia141 ever heard of Red, Thousand Foot Krutch, Underoath, Disciple, etc... i could go on. the point is, Christian labels don't mean you don't go big. most Christian bands like playing at church's and youth events, that's only one reason why some don't get as big as others.

AND maybe, just maybe these guys are happy with their label. They played Ozzfest in 2007 and had a pretty good response. What is your band doing????

Point and case Solid state is owned by tooth and nail, a larger christian record studio. check your facts fuck. again, i have met these guys, i have all their albums, they are fucking awesome. the label that they are on holds them back. And just because I don't play in a band currently has no bearing on my experience with record studios, labels or the biz. go fuck yourself.

Being from the same area as these guys I kind-of know a few things about them and have hung out them and know a bit more history about this band than you would ever know. So what if Solid-state is owned by Tooth and Nail? Whoopee efn dooo! I could care less if you've met these guys. Tool is on a practically "unknown" label(Volcano/zoo) owned by Sony... they do well for themselves. Go fuck yourself

Tool is an original and innovate band that has been around since the early 90's. The showdown would benefit from siging to a label like Roadrunner or Nuclear Blast (2 of the biggest metal labels around right now). Get your head out of your ass and stop talking like you know something.

They are on the same label they have always been on. They have a huge following. Metallica was on a major label for their all of their albums but practically unknown for the first 4 but had a huge underground fan base. It's about fans and word of mouth which is the best advertisment in any biz. The Showdown will gain a bigger fan base.

These guys are pretty much derivative of Pantera, Exhorder, Metallica, and some hardcore bands. They will not get THAT big, I'm sorry.
