I think it's a little strange that every single partner Derek has ever had on this show was born in the 70's.

Jennie Garth (Season 5) was born in 1972,

Shannon Elizabeth (Season 6; former girlfriend) was born in 1973,

Brooke Burke (Season 7) was born in 1971,

Lil' Kim (Season 8) was born in 1975, and

Joanna Krupa (Season 9) was born in 1979.

This will be the first season that his sister Julianne will not be performing in. Instead, she's taken on her music career.
