  • wow are all the scery movies in black and white ahh classics

  • Deborah is so classy and graceful, just excellent

  • scared the shit out of me, an excellent film.

  • Usually when they do remakes, it sucks. They try and get an ensemble cast so they can get a lot of revenue. If they ever do try and remake, they better have someone who knows how to create a creepy atmosphere and with good actors.

  • @KTBEverlasting I hope they won't do a remake, but if they do I think Alejandro Amenabar could be the right choice. He did a great job with The Others, a movie that has a lot in common with The Innocents. Charlotte Gainsbourgh could be a great Miss Giddens, but it wouldn't be easy to find another Martin Stephens to play Miles. He was the scariest child in movie history!

  • @MayasMoviebox I love the Others, that's one of my favorite horror movies. I don't really have anyone in mind for a cast. There probably is a Miles out there, but Stephens was definitely one of a kind.

  • Deborah Kerr's ability to emote her fear is half of what makes this movie so terrifying

  • they need to do remakes like these horror movies these days suck its mainly just blood and guts

  • Why do I feel so stupid and annoying for asking this? Can someone tell me how the two people die and how it ends?

  • Okay, I must say that that little girl is the most overreacted little girl i've ever seen behave. Lol

  • that ghost of Quint has a very sensous face

  • OMG It's Quinten lol

  • I had to do a monologue as Flora from this for my LAMDA exam last year :) It's an awesome film, very creepy :P

  • @QueenOfTheAubergines where did you get it from? i've looked everywhere for one to do for a competition but i can't find it :)

  • @beckypopsicle Well it was with my drama group, and the teacher had a book of LAMDA monologues- I don't really remember much else. I can type it up for you and send it to you if you like. The monologue I did was from the play though, not the film.

  • @QueenOfTheAubergines that would be great :)

  • @beckypopsicle I've typed it up and sent it to you :)

  • 4:25 was unexpected, scared me lol

  • Magnificent film so gothic, I love Deborah Kerr

  • they should do a remake of this

  • I have an original drawing by the righter of this film William Archibald called bearded lady that he drew in 1954 hanging in my living room and now after seeing this it is starting to creep me out looking at it lol

  • @kyolym that's interesting! I didn't know W. Archibald was also a painter. Where did you get such a rarity?

  • @MayasMoviebox I obtained it at a consignment auction in New York of items being sold by some upity New Yorkers. I believe the person that owned it might have been related to or a friend of the people it was inscribed to - Ruth and Zach it is really an odd looking drawing kinda morbid showing a ladys head in a tree like a bird nest with a bird leaves and flowers around the face. He had one hell of an imagination. If you send me an email to - bagins7719@aol.com I will send u a picture of it

  • @kyolym Thanks, that's so kind of you! I'm sending you my email right now :)

  • This is one awesome movie....... every movie thats before my time.... its like new to me.. and i still have a huge list to fulfill so im starving on new ones.... but this is a masterpiece..... it catches you

  • @MrGaidzak This is an evil film ; real evil exists in this

  • Crazy arsed kids

  • When he grabs her and will not let go, is just frightening... And both kisses scared the life out of me!

  • @SpockLover27: I'm going to upload those scenes too. Little Martin Stephens deserves a video of his own :)

  • Che bello questo film!! E lei...magnifica!

  • Yes ,the lake scene was indeed the scariest. Does anyone recognize Miss Jessel across the lake from somewhere else thats had several million copies printed of it?Black Sabbath's 1st album cover of course.Where do you think they got the idea for that famous record cover from. They got the name of the band from an older horror movie called Black Sabbath that was playing at a movie theater across the street when they played one of their 1st gigs and had to come up with a new name for the band quick.

  • @rematpac: hey, you're right! I had never seen that Black Sabbath record cover before. It's definitely inspired by Miss Jessel. So creepy!

  • @MayasMoviebox And what's the 1st sounds you hear at the beginning of the album before the music starts?A heavy rainfall of course.

  • @rematpac ..followed by a thunderstorm starting to break.

  • creepy yet interesting! 5 Stars *****

  • I agree that this is scary all the way through but the most powerful scene for me is at 8.00 with Miss Jessel across the lake. Flora's screams are a treat.

  • You don't consider the final death scene, or the "Sounds of Silence" scene to be the among the scariest? That final kiss.... *shudders*

  • @Epilogued:yeah! This movie is ALL scary, it's the scariest movie ever and Martin Stephens was the scariest child in movie history! But I had only 10 minutes for this video and I had to make a selection... Thanks for the comment and stay tuned :)
