    None of these diets included "getting off ass and moving about" and they are still stupid enough to believe it works. I see fat people go into the store and buy 100$ in junk food with their food stamp card and then complain about "I have a glandular problem" NO YOU EAT TOO MUCH FATTY!

  • @kd5eej Its not a cop out!! I dont eat too much (now) and i am actually considered by most UNDERWEIGHT now! :-) I am 183cm tall and weigh 157pounds. However i am still addicted to food and think about it every minute of the day and have to stop myself overeating at every meal time. I also exercise 2 hours a day too. I have been doing this for 10 years and havent gained any weight. Before this i was close to 280 pounds. So dont preach to me about cop outs and fat people doing absolutely nothing.

  • This show is so disappointing. They focus on calories and metabolism, as if eating a pound of carrots or a pound of ice cream will add equal amounts of body fat.

    The way to go is show us Andy's diet. Show us all the chips and starchy and sugary foods she eats every day.

    Losing weight is MOSTLY diet. A pound of fat is 5,000 calories. Jogging/walking burns 100 calories a mile. So you would have to jog 50 miles to lose just one pound!

  • @AppleSouffle almost everything you said is wrong, a pound of fat is 3500 calories, eating all ice cream or all carrots will be equally bad for you. Eating fat doesn't make you fat, eating excess calories does, regardless of where it comes from.

  • @PsychoPirate1166 That's not how it works. You actually eat about 4-7 servings of vegetables on atkins, even during induction. Anyone who avoids vegetables during the diet is doing it wrong. Fruit is, however, a no-no during the very beginning because of the sugar count. You get the nutrients you need from the veggies and a supplement, so the few weeks you go without fruit entirely are no big deal. There's a reason fruit is called nature's candy.

  • Hey there! Have you thought about intellectus 424 diet (do a search on google)? Ive heard some great things about it and my cooworker lost crazy amounts of weight with it.

    I don't recommend named diets or fad diets or whatever you want to call them. Calculate your BMR, multiply it by 1.2 and subtract 500. That is the amount of calories you are allowed per day. Eat _exactly_ that many and you will lose 1 lb every week, guaranteed. You could eat more if you want, just make sure you burn the extra calories with exercise. If you're 150 lbs then you could burn about 300 calories in an hour of cycling (note: if you're not giving it your all it doesn't count).

  • Also, bear in mind that if you do this, you are not "on a diet", you are making a lifestyle change, for good.

    You'll need to do the BMR * 1.2 - 500 calculation once every two months or so (to account for the drop in BMR as you lose weight). When you get to a healthy weight, recalculate it but don't subtract 500. That is how many calories you will eat per day for the rest of your life, and if you stick to that, you will never gain a pound again.

  • Braces make you skinny. You can't eat ANYTHING! No popcorn, not candy, nothing too hard or chewy, etc. Also on the first few days, you can't eat anything without pain. Which basically leaves you with rice, meat, and salad. You lose like 10 pounds in the first few weeks (I had to gain it back because it made me underweight).

  • They never mention ANYTHING about exercise. Only food. That annoys me.

    It's a complete myth that excess fat in your diet runs straight to your fat cells. Think of our hunter gatherer ancestors. If eating fat made you fat, homo erectus would have gone extinct.

You cant expect to eat the same diet they did and stay healthy without also living the same lifestyle as them. They had to fight for survival, didnt eat regular meals and also had a life expectancy way lower than todays modern world people.

    I dont think people understand the amount of energy our ancestors used just by getting their food in the first place. Energy in & out!

    While that's true, you can't ignore the fact that we are still basically the same (genetically) as our hunter-gatherer ancestors. Obviously since most of us don't spend our time hunting woolly mammoths, we don't need nearly as much energy in our diets, though... That's why we exercise - do cardio and lift weights.

  • I'll tell you why she's fat (the first woman) - cuz she has dark skin and yet she lives in the UK so she never gets an opportunity to make a decent amount of vitamin D (which is actually a steroid hormone not a vitamin).   • I get annoyed when people think others can eat anything without gaining any weight. There might be a few special cases, but the if you check out the majority, they also do a shit load of exercise to compensate. I'm thin and allow myself to eat junk on occasion, and this is on occasion, but I work out all the time.

  • @devilasse I disagree. It's definitely more than just a "few special cases". Some people have incredibly high metabolisms and they just cannot gain weight for the life of them. My little sister is 16 and she eats about 2,500-3,500 calories worth of complete junk food a day,she's never been to the gym in her life,and doesn't do any sports...yet she fits into a size 0-2 in all the stores she shops at. I have many friends in the same situation as her...so it's actually quite common,yet unhealthy.

  • Using testosterone and nandrolone with a hardcore weightlifting regimen i managed to go from 62kg to 87kg . My gain was mostly muscle with a bit of body fat. Steroids are way safer than booze or cigarettes which i quit.

I USED to be fat 6 years ago and I did NONE of what you claim that fat people do. Your comment would have been more accurate if you had said "some fat people."

  • @AGIRL10001 that's not true. It's not simple math. The body is more complicated than that. Hormones, etc play a huge role in if you gain weight. There are fat people who eat way less than skinny people but cannot lose weight.

Read some actual research papers, not the bullshit crap in some magazine. There are multiple reasons for why people are overweight & multiple reasons why there are skinny folks who can eat over 5,000 calories a day & not gain any weight at all. Genetics does play a part.   • @cinderella0576 Calm down :) If you want to lose weight, it's best to lose it slowly and not cut out just about everything, that would only be detrimental to your health as you'd be missing out on some vital nutrients; so don't panic, you'll do fine eating less and exercising more, you don't have to go cold turkey on everything :)

  • @cinderella0576 Don't cut salt, just processed foods. Salt is one of the most important minerals and if you use salt that has added ion, then that's extra good for you. The problem with salt nowadays is that people eat too much processed and fast food, which has too much salt added. So if you take those off the menu, you need to add a reasonable amount of salt to what you eat.

  • Eating only 3 meals a day can slow down your metabolism, so that when you do eat somthing your body stores it up as reserves. After 2-3 hours your body goes into starvation mode. You need to eat three big meals and 2 snacks a day. Eating every 2-3 hours gets your metabolism reved up! Calculating your BMR and caloric intake is the first step to losing wieght.

    Your metabolism isn't affected after 2-3 hours unless you are talking about the thermic affect of food (which is a retarded argument anyway, because it requires more net calories).

    Your metabolism isn't affected until about 2 days of EXTREME calorie restriction, ie eating 500cals per day, and it's still entirely possible to lose fat when your metabolism is slowing down.

  • @gargantuandick yeah..you go ahead and think that....do some research on the metabolism, how it's affected after not only long starvation= slow and lowered metabolism in an effort to survive,etc.. Your body does go into starvation mode after 3 hours! I've grown up around health nuts, doctors and nutritionists all my life! Your body is a biological machine and yeah you can smack and torture it and it wont have visible signs of abuse until later down the road. Keep up good maintenance & it'll last
