U can tell when they get a little older and DNt trust the pet stores never by a baby thinking ur going to get a girl cause I bought one and it was a boy and he said it was a girl
I really would love dumbo rats, But to be honest i do just want one is it possible or should i get two because i have less chance on getting one if i ask for 2
@smileyflyz I would never recommend getting just one. They are very social creatures, and being on their own can make them depressed and withdrawn. They need a friend with them to live happy health lives.
@smileyflyz Lol....well I don't know your mother so that's something you need to ask her yourself. Only get them if you can get 2 because its not fair to the rat keeping it alone.

@veronicasanchez60 you can take them out for short periods of time but they need mama for 6 weeks. Make sure when the boys testies develop you move them to a seperate cage cause they will mate!

Aww they used to be so tiny. I forgot that Socrates used to be the runt of the litter. He turned out to be so huge.
