  • I now consider you to be the BEST wood gas stove maker type scientist guy ever!!!lol.6 seconds for 1 litre of water is past amazing do you think you could make a video of a six second boil time I'd say your video might even be featured!!!You have come up with a break through

Well done if only I could rate you 10/5!!!

  • Have you tried that stove with the jet boil cup or any kind of pot with a flux ring heat exchanger i.e the primus eta power pot???

    5/5

  • not yet, but it's worth a try for sure. I have tried using a kelly kettle which I really like, but Hiram's idea is better because it is lower cost and more versatile. I can slow cook soups and polenta with a bunt pan and have the room I need to stir with a wooden spoon, while at the same time having the good heat transfer of a Kelly kettle and easier cleanup than a jetboil.

  • When you used the kelly kettle did you cover the top???On the website is say when using an alcohol stove you should cover the top I assume the same would apply for burning wood gas!!!

  • Do you think you could show that stove in more detail please???

  • Wow does that use a fan?

  • It can. This stove works either as a natural draft stove or with fans. The three fan options are internal AC driven impeller, external DC driven vain axial, external AC/DC tangential. My favourite is the tangential even if it requires the addition of a catenary intake arc but it works well, and lasts forever and I like things I dont have to think about ;o)

  • The fan idea would be great for a fixed camp its a real stove you can light fill and walk away knowing when you come back you'll have a meal

  • The idea of a fixed camp reminds me of a cabin my dad and I build years ago (happy memory). As for cooking, even the no fan version works just fine. To try it out I stacked a box of bricks (like big legos) and put a piece of sheet metal on top. The small gaps between the bricks let in all the air the stove needed and the top made a great griddle too. Ill post that too if you want.

  • Thanks for posting the other vid its amazing how a few cans some bricks and some metal can make a cooking system comparable to your own kitchen!!!

  • Fiamma eccezionale.

Anche la costruzione non è da meno.

    Complimenti per il progetto! ;-)

  • Grazie infinite.

  • Very nice. Can you more closely show your stove?

  • thank you very much. with a bit of luck I'll post something later this week

  • Great Vid. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Show us some more of your stove if you get a chance.

  • Happy to, I seem to be better at making stoves than videos but Ill do my best. Anything in particular I should show? Thanks for the comment

  • Wow super fast boil time! Nice work.

  • It sure was, could not be more pleased. It was Hiram Cooks super idea, and made my little stove faster than a jetboil! Guess Ill have to invest in a nicer looking bunt pan.
