WRONG!!! You never want to approach cross court. you need to approach down the line so your on the same side.. Again stop posting information you haven't studied...
When you approach cross court you have no side covered, but when you approach down the line you have the down the line and most of cross court covered...
@Bunny926 there is no wrong--if i have a great crosscourt approach, but i miss all my down the lines... don't i say there are only three times you hit down the line? approach, pass, and when they're off the court. where do i say approach cross only? but to be fair, i'm starting to like the crosscourt approach
the only time I aproach the net is when my opponent hits very short shots... otherwise... the net is something I try to avoid. I hit a lot of long top-spin shots... trying to keep my oponnent from getting the oportunity to hit short shots. I think the safest way to win a point is by trying to get your opponent out of the court using very strong top-spins.... going to the net has a lot of flaws(getting passed, getting lobed, not enough reaction time, hitting the net from low shots etc)
how would you put spin on it so that it would curl away? isn't it supposed to be a topspin forehand, how would you impart sidespin on the ball so that it would move into the alley
play tournaments--if you're in the US, there is a NTRP system. if you're in europe, they use ITF rating, it's a test. if you're in asia, you're out of luck, it's mostly by age.
um. no. that is a different video--he is using that triangle as something you keep the ball out of--that's not what I'm saying, I am saying you use the triangle as an indicator you have to go to net, along with the service box-and that guy from Hawaii is my friend. Besides Homes... I'm the one putting the vids up so if I was going to swipe it, you think I would put it up? but thanks for the vigilance.
thx for posting this vid hi10. Im a typical "young gun" 4.5 player. Strategy is pretty obvious when your playing. Change up your shots and hit "away" from the opponent or to their weakness. Recently after watching your videos I go into the matches with a gameplan. Before the serve im like, "im going to his backhand." Just knowing before hand EXACTLY what you want to do helps you execute shots more effectively !!!
the difference between 5.0 and 4.5 is so small... but there is a difference. 5.0's tend to hurt you right off the first shot and never let up. There is no defense--it's even offense when they play defense... and that's why they're 5.0. the worse part is often you know what is coming and are helpless to counter... you need to do that with pre-set shots

there's like natural spin on the forehand because you go across your body, all forehands tend to go left.

How do you find out your tennis level?

basically your opponent here doesnt know the basic court positioning thats why he is out of position
spreykety 2 years ago
nah, he just doesn't trust his volley vs my groundstrokes...
