I almost dislike watching the old Arsenal team, it just reminds me and pisses me off how far away from that group of winners we have gone, when Vieira had a go at Man U in that clip it made feel ill to think who the hell have we got like that now?

Think about it the spine of the team was Lehman, Campbell, Vieira and Henry now its whatever goalie, Vermalen who's not been there all season, Fabregas who wants to play for Barca and Van Persie who was third string behind Henry and Adebayor.

@khasseki I agree but don't be harsh on RVP he's loyal and despite injuries he has always shown he's quality and commitment when he's played plus he was 2nd string to Henry since he was younger then and less established and when fit he was always picked with Adebayor and not 2nd to him.

this guy is exactly what arsenal is missing. everyone in that team is soft. van persie, walcott, fabregas...these guys get injured every week and they dont scare anyone. maybe alex song and nasri have a bit of fire in them. they are surrounded by fragile players though. they cant face down united or chelsea(at full strength).

@doggy1boy Can I say aswell that it wasn't his decision to leave, Arsenal agreed to sell him. He was preparing to spend the rest of his career with us. AW is famed for making a profit on players he bought on the cheap and has done the same with Henry.

At any rate, you couldn't have blamed Vieira for leaving at the time he did. What have we gone onto since he left? Dennis was 36 when we won the FA Cup in 2005 whereas Vieira still had 5 years left to find a new challenge.

i'd give anything to see Arsenal back to how they were in days. with real players like Vieira, Henry, Pires, Ljunberg, Campbell. take a good look now at the squad and who've got of top quality? only Cesc Fabregas. another thing i think we need a speedy, penetrative striker. and of course score goals -_- and defend well. not concede, heck our keepers are also rubbish.
