It is funny because he does end up being the doctor and so if that guy who says that he was dreaming is still alive he got powned ... And I have seen the episode he was reading his cousins diary and he is from the high lands... Geez give handsome little David a break!!!
@Meimi132 and @Katlando WTF, he said "You know, in the back of his head, he is thinking 'I'm going to be Doctor Who one day, im going to make so much money' " So uhm...Yeah.
@Namaechan After he became the doctor? Really?? No way!! That's kind of like saying they knew Hitler would kill 6 millions Jews AFTER WORLD WAR 2, you twazak!
I haven't seen "Croftmore" but I'm guessing that David's character is taking in mick out of [ie mocking] the text he's reading aloud, or is making fun of the person who wrote it. He's acting! As for his accent, David's lovely soft West of Scotland accent is probably far less strong now that he's lived away from Paisley for so many years. It must have been stronger when he was a teenager and still at school.
Thanks for putting up this video! Loved seeing it........:)
I am very sorry, but he looks like a girl there, he doesn't in anything else i've seen him in, please don't take offense, hell I like David Tennant, he's one of my favorite actors but still...
That phrase cracked me up as well! He sounds almost Indian with that accent! What a wise-arse! LOL :D Teenage David - lord, his parents must've had their hands full with that precociousness! *squee*
No, not a documentary about DT. It was a program about movie and TV stars "before they were famous", showing debut acting roles and appearances in home videos, TV commercials and the like.
I think that the last person is completely wrong. Yes, Mr. Tennant did want to play Dr. Who all throughout his life but, from interviews I've seen him in and from when I met him he came across as loving making little shows like this, he is bothered, I think that the last guy is extremely jealous of Mr. Tennant's success.
I love DT but that did sound a bit Indian. Especially the "all around the house" bit. Lol, bless. :D And I agree his performance in Midnight was just superb. One of my favourite pieces of TV ever! (Midnight, I mean, not Dramarama.) ;)
I agree with you "juicyjuicy73". I put the clip up with the comments because I thought they were funny. If you know Scottish accents "havering1", you'll know David's REAL Scots accent sounds nothing like that, and furthermore, not much of a Scots accent at all. I'm sure he'd be the first to admit it's not BAFTA-winning. It by no means is meant to detract from the fabulous actor he now is, and rightfully acclaimed Best Doctor ever. His performance in series 4, ep. 10 - Midnight, was AMAZING!
I agree, his acting in Midnight was the best face acting i've ever seen. Giving so much emotion away just using his eyes...i mean it was just amazing. He just gets better and better.
@lozzy31 Agree *completely*! It was Midnight that solidified me as a true admirer of Tennant. Which is beyond being a fangirl...I truly admire his *massive* talent.
to be fair, I love David but that accent was a bit weird!! It started off a bit Indian, and then he started to sound like me when I try to do a Scottish accent! Bless. Now he is perfect, of course ;)
Who are THEY to imply that his accent was wrong, that his performance was hammy and that he was not taking the "Croftmore" gig seriously ?? ::boggle:: David was about 15 or 16 years old at the time, IIRC, for heaven's sake!
AND David Tennant is the sort of person who takes ALL his work seriously, because he loves it and has pride in it and, as well as that, he's got what's called integrity.
Stuff these critics with breadcrumbs and hot chillies, I say.
Uhmmm, excuse me... "first acting job", 16 years old, hasn't gone to RSADA yet... got the role... had a director, no doubt, telling him what he wanted... is Scottish, ergo the accent... who the hell are these morons to be discussing DT's childhood performance and what the HELL has it got to do with the man today??!!!!
well they are obviously more popular than him, hence feel that they know what they are talking about....and thats all it is...they think....have you ever read Tim Teeman's articles....I think he should learn to improve his work before making comments on other proffesions....
