The MyTouch is cheaper and has 3G, but the Nexus One is more expensive and faster internet speed than the MyTouch. And I hear that the Nexus One has some errors. usually ur phone is already on during the day. if u walk around with ur phone off then that kinda defeats the purpose of having a phone. theres probably a standbuy key so you can turn off the screen but still have it on just like any normal phone.
