These two characters are exactly myself and a certain lady during a certain time each month... I'll have to show her this vid (and then run for my life!)
I hadn't seen this skit in years yet it's popped up in my head from time to time since then. It's catchy AND positive as only these shows from what I like to call the Golden Age of Public Television could do! I'm talking about Electric Company, Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and Zoom. Thumbs up if you agree!!
Does anyone know if Skip Hinnant (as The Man in Black) singing "Back to Boogaloo" is posted anywhere online? I was disappointed the song wasn't on the Electric Company DVD.
why would you want to hang around someone who doesn't want to spend time with you?? Poor guy. At least he is able to turn her around for t he time being. lol
First, I thought that I DIDN'T remember this, but upon watching it, I now know that I HAVEN'T completely forgotten it. DON'T stop posting these great memories, Nanto, because there ISN'T anyone better than you at doing it! Actually, that's NAN'TO! N apostrophe T!
@murielsartre: Those lyrics cry out for a Sesame Street crossover, with Oscar and Grundgetta singing the negative lyrics as a duet....it's a shame the song ends on a happy note, or that would've worked beautifully.
@hoopersghost the song was actually written to be sung by a grouch. why i know that? i have no clue but its a fact..so good call, you have entered the mind of tom lehrer
I think I know why you know this, check some of the other comments. Lehrer's original version did feature a grumpy male voice (that sounded like it was in a cave), kind of a sad voice, for all its sulkiness.
Maybe the little girl here is the Grouchy Voice's daughter, they both seem to want to hide, and both willing to listen.
Definitely Season 2 (1972-73). Anytime you see Lee Chamberlin and Jim Boyd (or Luis Avalos) together on screen, it's most certainly S2.

Absolutely my favorite. I sing it to myself even today, and I grew up in the 70s.

I'm looking for the clip of Lee Chaimberlin singing ING while sitting on a Swing.
"Whatever I'm do-ING, I'm do-ING with you!!". It used to be here on Youtube, now I can't find it. Does anyone know if it's here or not??

Amazing how some nice people waste there time on those who aren't so nice.
It's also something how he convinced her to change her ways, at least for the time being.

I love the bit "The grouches all AGREEEE...! We get a glow from saying 'no' with N'T!"

Girls can be grouchy, esp grounded little girls.
