A lot of the guitar great had mainly one style of playing that when you hear the song you can recognize whos playing even if hearing it for the first time which I actually prefer (dont like guys who try to play other styles and blow) but Clapton is one of few who can really pull of switching up your sound every few albums sometimes more. My cousin sent me a link to this song to dedicate to my grandfather who had a terminal illness a couple years back. This song won't remind me of how he passed away, rather how his memories would live on in me and he is listening to this in heaven and waiting for his grandkids like me to reunite with him in heaven.
She saw it as beautiful on face value. Then it was explained to her the meaning of the lyrics. I don't know why, but she hated me more from that day forward.

Okay, I know this probably seems really ridiculous. But I cry every time I hear this song, because of my dog Buddy, who died and I wasn't at his side. It's probably like "Get over it" but, my earliest memories were with that dog. When he was just a puppy. Every time I cried he would be there to make it better. And this probably seems insignificant to what others have lost. But that dog was...... everything to me. R.I.P Buddy <3

@Cassattackred12 its not ridiculous at all, nor is it insignificant. its sounds the same as what clapton lost. someone near and dear to him who shared his life in more ways than they understood. How a child comforts his/her parent when they cry or are sad. you lost a part of you that day and its perfectly understandable :) i dont know what i'd do when my shadw goes..

My cousin sent me a link to this song to dedicate to my grandfather who had a terminal illness a couple years back. This song won't remind me of how he passed away, rather how his memories would live on in me and he is listening to this in heaven and waiting for his grandkids like me to reunite with him in heaven.
