DFD does fuckin rock... they stayed witha neighbor for one of their orlando shows so i got to chill porch style with em and burn them all my paton files.

Their only downfall was being a little too heavily influenced by mike patton and manson.

Actually, "Headless" is about the their appearance on "Farm Club" (an old Friday night show on USA). DFD played Leper Friend and the producers butchered it almost beyond recognition. Needless to say, the band were more than a bit peeved at the thought of bean counters making decisions about someone else's art without consent or prior notice. DFD never tried to peddle a demo to Mike Patton. And another thing, Patton is not their "hero" as you put it. An influence, yes. Hero, not so much.

This video is bad ass. It still pisses me off that people think this is an SOAD song. Don't get me wrong, SOAD is great, but DFD seriously needs some recognition for it. They are one of the most underrated bands out there which is sad because they are very unique and have an amazing imagination. I guess it would be hard to find the right market for their music, though, which is why you don't see many DFD hoodies, notepads, and lunchboxes at Hot Topic.

How so? Serj did not, in any way, contribute any of the music or lyrics to the album, Anarchists of Good Taste. Serj sang the melody and lyrics to Mushroom Cult which Todd had already recorded. The band chose the two verse sections to insert Serj's parts. No one but members of DFD have written and performed their music. I don't know where you crazy kids get your ideas. This internet thing may be doing more harm than good.

I'm sorry, but that is absolutely incorrect. Dog Fashion Disco has never worked with an industry producer. The band and the lead engineer are the only ones involved with their albums. Anarchists of Good Taste was recorded in the basement studio of Drew Mazurek in Towson, MD during the summer of 2000. Serj Tankian had nothing to do with the writing, recording or production of this record. Period.

Mushroom Cult was written by Dog Fashion Disco in 2000. DFD found out Serj is a fan of the band, so they contacted him and asked if he would like to make an appearance on their album "Anarchists of Good Taste." They sent him two songs and he chose this one. The album was released in March 2001 to rave reviews. Unfortunately, Dog Fashion Disco retired on January 13th, 2007 after more than 15 years in the business. They played their final show at Sonar in Baltimore, Maryland on that date.
