Very haunting. Reminiscent of the quiet parts of The Doors' "Unknown Soldier". I believe that is Allen Lanier doing those little waves of sound on the guitar. Despite the subdued volume and sombre mood, there is an overwhelming tension and heavy sadness here. Beautiful song.
Her first album - a classic - every note - perfection - listened to it as loud & as often as possible - she opened the door for the Punk Era - a goddess!!!!!!!!!!!

I prefer her harder melodies and angst, but this is fine.

It's avery atmospheric song. Makes me think of cloudy days and rain or a park filled with old statues and shrines to the dead.

I don't think she's ever written a bad song. She has impeccable taste. I love this portrait of her by Maplethorpe. Thanks for posting it!
