Its a pretty peice...but where is the fire? the passion? the emotion? They seem to be almost robotic, and just focused on technique, and not feeling the music at all. So much potential, but feel the music.
i totally think it didnt lack power... not at all honestly. Emotion, yep it wasn't quite there,because they are TOO MUCH controlled with their movement... it isnt believable that much. And yet i still liked it.Awesome choreography for sure

I can't tell if the audio is off but, the dancers seemed to be a half step ahead of the music. But, sometimes audio and video don't sync when uploading. So, it could just be that. I liked this routine and I *love* this song. It always reminds me of the Six Feet Under series finale and I bawl my eyes out. I love that show. :)
I can see that the guy has the power, but he needs to put more strength into his jumps... and it needed to be a little more fluid... at some places it looked a little like you were trudging when it should have been a clean transition.... but it looked great most of the time!! :) and it looked like you must have enjoyed working on it, and that's really all that matters in the long run :)

Also, there needs to be more balance, in contemporray dance the male dancer has to be more feminine and emotive then in jazz or classical, so don't be afraid, you have amazing potential allows your feelings fears and sex joy and pain to come through. your body needs to be so good the music can be muted

The girls technique is there, but she dances like some of my students who are nervous, and dances through the steps instead of feeling it and letting her body be an expression of the music. Deep breathing exercises and freefrom dance sessions alone and in groups can help with this. I think it will help her lines too.

For dance to be effective, it has to be an expression, it has to be a conversation, it has to be a story. This song is so emotive and powerful. The dance has to match it. Everything could have been bigger, transitions could have been filled out, movement could have been stretched. The Choreography is there, it just needs to be fulfilled.
There's no power to their dance, no matter how easy the steps are you have to EXPRESS the emotions the song is there to guide you use it as an advantage. If you were to go to competition with this you would get demolished. It's good, but lacks.
You guys should give them a break. Although I'm no expert on contemporary dance, I really enjoy watching this. At some points you can see emotion in the girl's shoulders. Sure, their timing may be a little off at some points, but I don't think it lacks emotion. Great job:)

yeah guys are you students? think you both could be good just keep going to class and work on the performance of the piece itself that will help you get the emotion out. think of the story behind each movement and why you are doing each movement. to be a great dancer you ave to act as well as dance and show the emotion and show that you are loving what you are doing. just give it a little bit more emotion next time guys. hope your still dancing and loving it!

i agree with a couple of people on here, you performed the moves fairly cleanly, and there were some obvious highlights, your turning, flexibility and focus is good, but when dancing to a song this passionate, you really need to work on having more of a connection with your partner, it did (at times) look like you were just marking it through, and almost as ive you were waiting.... and then you did the next move. so just little things like that would make this amazing :)
You pulled off the life very well. Impressive. In the end you can really feel the passion. It's brave of you to ask for criticism because there are a lot of people that post comments and have no idea what they are talking about. You did a wonderful job. You and your partner work well together.
I love it. The dance was nice. Make sure you always are always pointing your toes. I have a problem with that myself. At times it looks like they are flexed when you are turning because you are not thinking about it because you are trying to spot. WE DANCE A LOT A LIKE!!! LOL. Keep up with dancing and don't let the really ignorant comments discourage you. You are a great dancer and with a few more technique classes you will be going amazing places.

The lift was from Mia Michael's piece with Lacey and Kameron called Dancing. But other than that, it was okay, it was a little off though, in terms of counting.. other than that the choreography was there, but it just wasn't well executed..
errrrrrrrr i'm not tyrin to diss or anything but it just didn't go well . you have to get the emotion there even if you're only standing right where you are and it seems they're beginners, because there wasn't chemistry between them at all . pretty awful actually . i could do the same

The dance was OK...
I liked the idea behind the theme!
However there were many times in the dance where either one of the dancers just stood there and it looked like they didn't know what to do...
If the pauses were more sharp and/or suddenly out of a movement (like half a spin then *bam* no movement) it would have looked better...
also, practice hard on your energy that you give out (aka your stage presence)...
it looked more like two solos than a duet...
