  • Unlike many other pianists David Fung makes L.v. Beethoven sound like L.v. Beethoven. I think the composer himself would have liked this rendition.

However I would have liked this on a Boesendorfer. It would have sounded so much better.

  • I think this always will be dull played on the modern piano - the bass dies... But the pianist is good though.-.

  • There was no memory slip, it was perfect. And don't you dare say otherwise.

  • indeed :)...

  • Yes, there was at 2:47 but it wasn't a big deal.

I'd also say musically #4 in b minor was the weakest of the 6, but overall this was a great performance of the op 126 bagatelles.

I'd like to hear David Fung play more Beethoven.

  • Oh, and at 10:18

  • Shame about that one memory slip. Otherwise fantastic interpretation! I'm learning these at the moment, they're the sort of pieces where interpretation is really important due to the general lack of technical difficulty - your bagatelles have been a real guide.

  • oh, interesting point of view: the less difficulty, the more interpretation ;-)

  • that was an audio problem i believe..

  • This is extroardinary work man that it works on so many levels. This is a variation most likely of a variaton. However, for the enthusists, the ones who are self-loathing, tormented, begilled. Dearie, this louse, a monomaniac indeed. But deeply level x.

  • full of determination the 4th bagatelle, presto in B minor but sweetened by an episode of "musette", followed by G major quasi allegretto 5th bagatelle known by its soft tenderness and finally the last one presto, andante amabile e con moto rich in expressive contrasts, often it has been said that the intensity of the inspiration of the bagatelles is in no way less daring nor less deep than the piano sonatas, just more concentrated, long live ludwig van

  • I like it :)

  • Brilliant bagatelles, brilliant interpretation.

I'm working as a composer myself since more or less 2 years. I posted one of my bagatelles as video response to this video, please let me know what you think of it.

  • Simply the best!!
