honor him for what? he never won anything he never helped the team win he wasnt there while they won anything. never won an award of any kind. his only raise to fame was being on a loser rangers team the same team hockey players in the league feared of being traded to
Thanks for posting this vid---wish I could see it in its entirety. Anyway, JD was my favorite goalie growing up. I will never forget how he led the Rangers to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1979--as we beat LA, Philadelphia and finally the Islanders, who were the best team in the league. Obviously the Cup in 1994 meant a tremendous amount to Ranger fans, but coming out of nowhere in 1979 was amazing, and made me a Ranger fan forever.
1 cup in 70 years ? typical long island douche. you know nothing about the game i can see. reply if you want(when your done with your homework) i won't waste my time answering your stupid ass again.i bet you weren't even alive in 83 (last cup you'll ever see). your mom was still doing scott baio look alikes back then right ? moron...ha ha ha ha. isn't it time for you to go buy your copy of teen beat at 7-11 ?
The 1st game I ever went to was the infamous Ranger/Boston brawl that ended up in the stands. JD started it! He is a class act and I still miss his insights and his passion for the Rangers. He is a lengendary figure who never seemed to have taken himself too seriously. Best of luck to him.

The fact that the Rangers let him go to keep this insignifcant, has-been, unprepared sham, Sather still irks the hell out of me.

@CtrlRm How many cups did he win with the Rangers?
mrceebees14 1 month ago
@mrceebees14 None. He was an analyst for 25 years with the New York Rangers though and was adored by all the fans. Are you new to hockey?

JD was a homer color man, but we loved him, he was all Class unlike Islander fans who throw garbage on the ice & start shit in Ranger video comments.

The guy deserves it, JD only wanted to increase the love of hockey in the US.
And so what if he's homer, he's our lovable homer
