  • Hey Pixx- thanks for the response. I hope to get this down. Again, great video, very informative- best videos on youtube. Thanks for everything!!

  • Please help- I just bought first guitar trying to play this great tune!

my question: for the C chord in this tutorial the finger position is 332011 (EADGBe) correct?, and furthermore, F chord shifting down to 033211 ?

Having a heck of a hard time keeping pinky finger down on both B and e strings at same time. Please correct me if in this tutorial i am incorrect with the finger positioning.

Would playing a normal C chord work just as well- 032010 ? Thanks to everyone who can help

  • @lienjm85 Hey dude, This is paintermanone (signed in under a newer channel)... You don't need to hold down the e.... Just 332010 and x33210 Best of luck with it dude! Drop me a line if need more help with it :)

  • yes, thank you. this is a beautiful tune.

  • You can grab the audio-mp3 of this track at fromvideotomp3 doht cohm.

  • "Through the dark" is a good one for a tutorial also. Thanks

  • Thank you! Great work! If you could make a tutorial for "All of my days" by Alexi it would be greatly appreciated. Keep jammin

  • thanks your amazing !!!

  • @Guitarpixx snap! enjoy the happy daze!. all good here..

  • @Guitarpixx cant remember if i saluted off on a happy daze,, if not happy daze and ejoyee!! nice one man, down up down :) all gooooodd......jees i'm jaded but my boys here are worse than me, at least i can typpppe!!!

  • not bad except, that you are using the capo on the 2nd fret and all live versions i have seen, he uses it on the 3rd fret. please explain.

  • @Nil8tor69 Alexi is tuned down half a step... When in standard tuning you only need to capo on 2nd. -Pix/Paintermanone

  • @Guitarpixx AHHH! tyvm! explains everything!

  • putting your thumng over the top string IS NOT a bad habbit. Explain how u play chords like D/G or D/F without holding the bass note with yur thumb?....

  • @joeakapins d/g is easy enough.... Barre ebg with your index catch b on 3rd with the pointer and catch E 3rd (G note) with the middle finger...D/F is a bit harder but very doable, however, I do admit that reaching over for some chords is "Necessary". Being necessary doesn't constitute a good habit though. Using it (the reach over) for a basic F (or any other barre chord) Is Bad Form. You pull your fretting fingers closer to the fretboard limiting your reach... Just my .02... -Pix/painterman

  • nice

  • That's great! Thanks for the lesson. Its nice to find that mere mortals like me can have a crack at this great song.

  • Glad it helped! Thanks for the vid link as well! Enjoyed the tune :) May even give it a crack ;) Peace! -Pix/paintermanone/ and a few other names on here lol

  • thanks!

  • great tutorial, i like how you explain everything :)

you mumble just a bit every once in a while tho

  • I wouldn't say it's bad form to use your thumb for the f chord. there are advantages to playing it either way. i don't think there are any fingerings that are "bad form". it's a matter of convenience and transition and sometimes just preference. it just depends on the song and what you're trying to accomplish. there's always more than one way to play a song. i use various fingerings for all chords depending on what i'm playing.

  • Wow man, just a great instructional. Best I have seen so far anwhere.

    Thanks!

  • hi

    nice 1 painterman

the lessons have really taken off

    excellent

    love peace & happy skanking

  • a great lesson for a great song

  • cheers 4 d post.helped a lot.

  • Glad it helped! Cheers!

  • Good lesson, PM, but I'd recommend playing through (parts of) the song just so that the viewer is familiar with the melody first. Other than that small peeve I'd say that you instruct in a very coherant manner. The song is a sweetie too.

  • Thanks! I'll keep that in mind for the next one. I think I talked a bit much in this one :) It was late and I was tired... Peace!

  • for that the viewer just has to hear the song (several times)! this is just explaning the chords.. and thats what the viewer wants.
