  • Your tank gave me a boner... any one know if bow front tanks come in 55 gallons?

  • so i guess it is possible to run a salt water tank with a canister filter my local pet shop says it will run good for a while then you will have alot of problems. he says the canister filters will raise your nitrites in your tank. the canister filter i wanted to buy is the RENA filstar xP3.and can you recommend a good protein skimmer and how often do you do water changes

  • hey i lovee the tank... and the canopy!!! did you make it your self? or is it bought off a website? if you wouldnt mind, do you think you could help me out with how you made it or where you bought it? i would really appriciate it, i need a hood like this for my 46

  • any updates? since this is a 4year tank since your last video.. does that mean you had the tang for 4+ years now? how's it doing? i've been tempted to get a small tang as well.. my tank balanced out and i beat out GHA and cyno.. yay!

  • Does the skimmer really helps to make the water clean? I need help please I want to make my tank clean like yours? what equipment u use to make your tank so clean and no algae problems?

  • very nice tank. how long have you had that yellow tang and how large is it? I also have a 46 gal., but, I've read that yellow tangs get to big for a 46 gal.

  • @cdreads1, I had the yellow tank for about a year. I sold it back to the store shortly after.

  • @openbrain87 are those live plants in freshwater?

  • Well Done tank.

  • woww.. do you use a wet/dry sump/refugium or rely solely on the fluval? i've got a similar setup as you except i'm at the FOWLR stage with the standard lighting system seriously thinking about a sump if i want to do coral...

  • Yep, just the fluval. No sump. I find myself cleaning out the canister every two weeks, but it's worth the extra work.

  • I have a 46G bow as well. I noticed you have a Koralia. I only noticed one though. Do you have any other jets in your tank? I have two Koralia 3s and a nano in the back of the reef. The two Koralia 3s seem like too much flow though.

  • I also have two Mini Jet 606 Adjustable Flow Mini-Pumps behind the live rock. Water flow is one of the most important things to get right in your tank. If the flow is to hard you can kill off your corals, and if it's not enough flow you can get really bad water levels when testing it.

  • your tanks looks really nice and clean, nice choice in corals. i have a 46 gallon bowfront too and i like your hood alot if you still rember could you tell me the websight you purchased it from i would be interested in buying one.

  • beautiful. what's that white flowy thing at 15 seconds?

  • How about how much money is invested in this tank? I have a fresh water 46 bow but i want to make the switch to salt. Fresh water seems so childish when you compare it to salt

  • Good question. I'm not sure exactly how much i put into this tank. But the tank, lighting, chiller, and filter cost roughly $1,600.00. Hope that helps..

  • I'd recommend u put duct tape inside the canopy to cover the light protruding outwards...looks cheesy to me. Just a thought. :)

  • how do you keep the water pristine clean?

  • Water changes, Water changes!!! Every two weeks. I also clean the glass, pumps, and filter too.

  • the power head u have could work in a 36 gallon reef? what kind of aqua clear hang on filter u have?

  • I use a Fluval 305 canister filter for my tank.

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing tank! How big is your tang? Has it stopped growing or is it still getting larger.

  • It looks like it's still growing, and eating a lot.

  • Great Tank! I'd love to do rock and coral, but I'm still learning, so I'm going simple. Wonderful Job! Chrystal Clear!

  • Im getting a 46 gallon with a bowed front for Christmas and probably getting crabs sea snakes and other fish to put in with my sharks. :D

  • wow..beautiful tank! love your beauty.:)

  • Thank you!

  • Awesome! Your water is crystal clear! Tank is too small for a Yellow Tang to live a healthy life in my opinion.

  • Thanks! I do water changes every two weeks, and make sure that my filter and power heads are cleaned. I agree that my tank is to small for my Yellow Tang, but i will be moving next year and buying a much larger tank.
