@shockofgod you cannot leave atheism if you are a real atheist you have reached a state of mind that has seen the true light. science and virtue will bring humanity into a new era. over 60% atheists in czech republic, might be the first country where religion will die out within the next 15 years.promise. Sapientia et Scientia! shopenhuer was right, life without pain has no meaning, get rid of religion, it's a painkiller like morphine, but it won't make the reason of the pain go away, mortality!
Religion make have caused wars, deaths, violence, and etc. Though, some religions may not even agree with others. I know that some people associate all the opposing religions together as one, but they have to see it differently. Just saying, "Oh, all religions are just mind-washing you and making you waste your time," are just people that don't know how to provide further evidence. Put them individually, and compare each with each. Some religions rely on your opinion, some want your money.
@rexplosi0n But though, you must always see their differences. Now as for aethiesm, they are not really much of a mean, marauding, people, as some religious people see. Though, as I have seen, people such channels such as "Aethiestdotcom", or "AmazingAethiest", I see them bashing around religions saying that they are bad and to even to support their reasons, they provide other means of evidence, using Google, quotes, etc. So basically, religions and aethiests are somewhat waging a war.
@rexplosi0n Why does one have to pick a side between atheism an religious beliefs? Each has strengths and weaknesses. Atheism is a very general term, as there are some religions that are actually categorized as atheistic. For example, some forms of Buddhism contain no gods, and are therefore, atheistic yet religious. A better question would be 'are you atheist or theist'? In which case, there is still a gray area in which people don't know whether to believe or not believe in god(s).
@Mystrymeat Of course there is. But one thing for sure is that they should at least get their evidence and work going through, or else it could be easily proven false. :/ Though, on the other-hand, all they have to do is get some advertisements and other dim-witted/"Steven-Hawkings" to do their bidding.
@rexplosi0n Precisely. But religion, in my opinion, is a bit dangerous no matter the circumstance. However, this is because I personally feel that following the exact beliefs of someone else is restricting of self-growth. I think that having personal beliefs (rather than following belief dogmatic scriptures to the letter) is much healthier than any religion on the market. With such belief, you can adequately accomodate scientific discovery to your liking, while also being spiritually motivated.

@Mystrymeat I agree with what you say, Mystery. Of course we can have religion and part-time scientific belief. Though, it may be hard for people to combine those two, but it's their problem. :D
@rexplosi0n It's not so hard to combine the two when you try to understand other's perspective. For example, if a Christian puts down science for being "ungodly", then you could say in return "Well if your god made everything, then God invented science too, now didn't he? And what better way to learn about your god than through his own creation?", This will leave them with the ideal that science may be a good thing, or, at the very least, it will get them to start thinking with a more open mind.
@Mystrymeat But of course, many people have that belief, surprisingly so am I. But ever so still, how about making a NEW religon, with other beliefs (plus theirs) and somehow famous. It always depends on the religion's perspective to get their mind open and free. As of course, I can agree with your opinions and such.
Besides, Jesus said words hold power. When u can change someones life with a sentence or paragraph, empower people with your views and convince someone to NOT commit suicide with a few words, thats power. When words are used to promote fear and hate, thats just the power of stupidity :)
Most things ending with "ism" or "ology" tend to all say the same thing, which is: "i will closed mindedly hold what i believe as absolute universal truth regardless of any evidence and i will attack you if you believe differently than me". People often confuse sceptics with cynics. Sceptics say "i disagree, but my mind is open to evidence" where as cynicism is a form of blind naivety.
lol while every religion has extremist nut jobs atheists are not left out of that category while they think they may be I have seen many instances where atheist treat religious people like scum an even resort to violence when it boils down to it its not religion, its not atheism, its people it mankind that is bad we kill the planet, other people, an take from the those less fortunate , an care only inward most of the world anyway
@YoruAzenia1 I didn't say that atheists weren't a part of the problem, I merely said that religion is. If you read the description you'll see that I never once said that atheism was any better than theism. I don't work on behalf of any particular religion (or lack thereof) I only put rationality where rationality is due, whether it be towards theists such as the overbearingly hypocritical ShockofGod or atheists such as the trollishly ignorant GodKillerAtheist (See my video on him if you'd like).
@xnarutofanx13 I wish that such would be the case, unfortunately it seems that religion, among other things, has been weeded into many parts of the educational system. Classes in some states are being taught out of history books which contain Christian bias, and some students choose not to believe much of the information that is taught in class because they feel it interferes with their religious beliefs. Education should be prized over all in society, but religion often interferes.
@Mystrymeat Next they're gonna say mario is satanic: He grabs EVIL flowers and mushrooms and "channels" their power to attack "innocent" animals. HE'S AN ANIMAL ABUSER! DON'T LET YOUR KIDS PLAY MARIO GAMES!

@rexplosi0n Indeed, everything and anything we experience is all a matter of ideology and perspective. But that's what makes things fun.
