  • You do not need to have a mare in a stall to foal. -_-'' Horses dont have foals in stalls natrually, if you have a stall leave it open sure but mares choose where they foal. Give them a choice.

Good video, I hope the foal does well.

  • hehe, he was like "Get me outta here!" at 2:03

  • im glad youl et the mare foal on her own unlike most people

  • actually foaling can cause more harm than good if you don't know what you're doing. Horses have been foaling way before humans intervened to help out. This mare did a wonderful job and there was no need to intervene

  • I knew of a mare who refused to foal in a stall..the foal was halfway out and she backed her butt up to a wall.

  • i just threw up in my mouth

  • really STUPID NOT TO HELP THIS MARE foaling !!! really bad thing to let a foal in this position so long, in the creep...

  • @galdgsh the mare did not need help she took a brreak (wich is natural -.-) then finished pushing. mares foal all the time in the wild they do not need help 95% of the time

  • My happiness Asian Beauties **lushfmlk.info**

  • He's a spunky one! I still don't think there's any excuse for all that poop though.

  • @mediate27 thats not poop ;)

  • Correct me if im wrong but that looked like a difficult birth, It must have been nerve racking

  • Mares in the wild give birth all the time in the freezing cold. It's not a big deal.

  • DAMN! I accidently disliked... such a gorgeous baby! =D Congrats. (:

  • what a pretty filly!! ^_^

  • Fà un po impressione.. però è una scena stupendaa*.*

  • what did u name her? she's beautiful

  • Filly's are girl horses usually under the age of Three years then they are called mares. Colts are male horses that have not been castrated yet and usually under the age of 2 or 3 then they are called Studs. If they are castrated then they are called geldings.

  • @randrpaints My horse is a gelding hes a blck and white paint watch my video if u just clik on my name then it should show up watch te one o f me n oreo ohk

  • Gorgeous foal!! Congrats!! Beautiful song too! What's the name and artist of the song??

  • Why isn't this mare in a stall?

  • I had her in a stall but because I only have one she went nuts not being able to see her pasture mates and she would not settle in. As soon as I put her out she settled in and she had the foal with in the hr.

  • It's amazing how stubborn animals can be. thank you for clarifying this. Lovely foal.

  • god be with the mere & bless her cute foal

  • omg! it was steaming! the foal i mean! wierd

  • @buggie126 cold weather and a hot blooded mammal just been born perhaps? bit like when you breathe out in winter and it looks like smoke, its all the water coming off the horse.

  • aww beautiful video God Bless your horses

  • aww it is soooo cute

  • BEAUTIFUL ! God bless you all ! Best wishes of happiness !

  • it was beautifully disgusting. beautiful foal

  • she did that all naturally? in many videos i saw, they were pulling

  • d'aaw i bet he was freezing!

  • Did you not read the previous comments!!!! It is the Beginning of April the frost and snow is still on the ground how do you expect to clean anything when it is frozen solid and besides I can not control where my mare wants to foal she had a perfectly good bed of straw on the ground but she did not want to use it . Where she she did foal just happened to be where there was some spread poop it looks way worse because of the frost on the ground

  • What a beautiful skewbald foal!

It's great seeing a natural birth with no problems and no help needed, the mare did an excellent job.

  • Mum, foal and owner did a fantastic job! Such a quick birth. Looks like she did everything right especially the mid-way resting bit. And whoa - what a gorgeous, alert colt. Congrats! Hope my mare delivers just as smoothly - any day now!

  • wow, what a beautiful wonder :)

  • oh my goodness... that was an amazing moment.... so... beautiful.... i started crying... no joke.

  • wow, that was a good sized colt

  • she was having alot of trouble at the end

  • this was a beautiful moment!! and the foal is so beautiful!!

  • OMFG THE COLTS GORGEOUS

  • Awsome Mum and Baby! Pulling actually causes more problems for both mom and baby. Natural is better, no problems with this foaling. I agree too that its a super looking baby. A year late but Congrats anyway!

  • Wow. Theres alot of peop,le cursing everybody out. I think that everyone should let everyone else have there own opinions and stop cursing at the owner. Cant you see she did a wonderful job? She said the foal is at its new owners doing great. She is nice enough to post this so it can help us. Why curse her out? Wontthat just make her stop posting. Thankyou very much for posting this:)

    ~Ashlee~

  • I do not know what everybody is fighting about, everybody can have there owne opinion and there sure is no reason for namecalling.

the mare did great without help even though if it was my mare i may would have helped.

but then if you wantch the videos of foals been born and people pull then people say why did you pull.

all so negative, if you cant say nothing nice better say nothing at all.

I love the video and the mare did a great job.

    good looking foal

  • Thank-you for this comment. It is much appreciated.

  • congrats on the beautiful colt. I want him! :) I also like the song!

  • the faol is a gelding already :O

  • The foal is with his new owner now and is a big strong gelding at 1yr old now. Sorry no new video this year I missed my mare that foaled this year by just mins. Mom of this baby is doing great and is bred back now the same way for a 2010 foal.

  • Couldn't you have put straw down for them? It looked pretty nasty where she gave birth.

  • I do have straw in the shelter and in front but I can not choose were she is going to foal. She has a big pen and the frost is not out of the ground yet how am I supposed to clean pens when three days later we got a big dump of snow. Just because it looks like a lot of shit, there is not it is mostly dirt, but because of the close up she just happend to lie in a slightly dirtier spot.

  • o i c... It does look like there is a lot of horse manure.

    Anyways... Beautiful foal and mamma..

I'm just glad that you didn't interfere with the birthing process.

How are they doing now? Got any new vid?

  • at 2:07 the baby is like: i know i am not 100% of the way out yet....but i want some milk.....

  • u should have help the mare by pulling the foal it does not mater who many she has had u should have still pulled the foal

  • U dumbass.

a mare just can get 1 baby

  • What do you mean by this statment is it directed to someone else or me the owner????? What are you trying to say???? Besides someone being a dumbass

  • perhaps helping the foal and mare? dumb ass.

  • Did you not relize that she foaled within 5 mins. This is her 4th foal and if you think that you need to pull every foal you see then you are the dumb ass!!!!!!!!!

  • by the looks of it, the mare could of used some help! it looked like the foal was a little stuck sometimes...

  • This is a reality of foaling and you should give them some time to do it on there own. Horses have been doing this for thousands of years by themselves. So next time you call someone a dumb ass get all the facts first.

  • That is true. My sister has Morgan horses, and one of the mares foaled. The vet told her to let nature take it's course and not to interfere unless ABSOLUTELY necessary.

  • The only time a human needs to step in is when the foal is being born backwards, other wise it could die.

  • What a beauty (both of the horses)! :) congrats

  • oops meant stuck

  • Cute little colt looks like he got suck for a little bit though it didn't stop him from trying to nurse lol Nice markings.

  • aww looks like shes gonna be a great mother! was that her first??

  • OMG 1 Day before my birthday lol!

  • Bandit was just screaming "I wanna run around!" =)

  • That is a nice foal you got there

  • The first video I have seen where people don't rush in and pull the hell out of these poor foals! Yanking them violently out instead of letting nature take it's cource. You can see the toll it is taking on the mares. They seem numb and unresponsive to thier young.

  • To be fair, sometimes they need intervention. Our foal got stuck halfway, and we had to pull it out. It wasn't a matter of nature taking it's course, the mare was going to die if we hadn't helped (we were too late to save the foal).

And even though the foal died, our mare was still very attentive to him, and didn't leave his side till we took it away to bury it.

So please don't assume the people are pulling out the foals for no reason, they're just trying to help

  • It's ok to assist, except it's very important to pull with the contractions, when she pushes you pull, then it's more natural. I had to assist a sheep giving birth because she had twins and was too tired to push the second one out, and she was totally fine after. Sometimes it's necessary to help for sure, and sometimes just let nature run it's course.

  • =) cute

  • that was so sweet the way she wimpered at him!!!!

  • this is beautiful. babies are such incredible things! welcome bandit!! he (?) is such a cutie!!
