He revived her out of couriosity after Tenseiga desired he should. He was in search of answers to his father's question about having someone to protect.
2nd was when the demon dog swallowed her & took her to hell. He saves her but can't bring her soul back because he had already saved her once, so his mother calls her soul back.

During that time, I highly doubt that InuYasha's mother, Izayoi, could have even been born. Then Izayoi was born and InuTashio was still living. After quite a few years, they meet, fall in love, and have InuYasha, resulting in InuTashio's death. So I don't see how it would be bad for Rin and Sesshomaru to be together, if his dad and Izayoi can.

But in time, as Rin continues to be in Sesshomaru's life, his protective feelings over her will slowly develop to much greater feelings for her. That heartbeat when he took her in his arms sealed both their fates forever. She was the first, the only human Sesshomaru had ever touched. Their is no going into his family tree, the royalty of his class. What choices he may/would have had as the Lord of his Domain. The S/R relationship get more involved, tighter in the Final Act of which this is only a few episodes into so I won't throw any spoilers out their that would upset first time viewers. Fanfiction has many twisted storelines for S/R.
Growth between these two characters was obviously meant for them to come together. 1st the circumstances of how they meet. Her actions. He respected, but was perplexed by her courage & lack of fear, when all others trembled. 2nd we have her death & his reaction, 3rd we have Tensaga's desire (thus his father's desire) to raise her from the dead, that heartbeat. 4th frorm the 3rd his father hopes he would learn humility, compassion for others, understand what it means to have someone to protect.
The only reason I disagree with that is he watched her grow up. Don't you think that would be kinda weird? Also even if he doesn't hate humans I don't believe he would want to have a child with one.
I wish we could've seen more of Sesshoumaru-sama's mother; she's EPIC! I wish Inunotashio gets resurrected and gets a change to see his grandchildren! XD Someone make a Fanfiction abou this! ^_^

He admires her, respects her courage, her determination, her bravery. Sometimes Rin seems childish, sometimes quite grownup. For a long time he considered her as someone he should protect, something his father wanted him to learn. He doesn't have many options for a wife. She would have to have all the things Rin has. He will wait for her to mature into a woman.

Those are all things Sesshomaru highly admires & respects in any being, so he would want those things from a wife. Just saying.

After the final showdown, he leaves her to stay at the village so she can live amoungst human & make up her own mind about whether or not she wishes to be with him or stay with humans. 3 years pass (which put's her in the young woman category). He stops in to see her. She likes being at the village, but she desires to be with Sesshomaru more.

1. She's 8 when they meet. (8 going on 9)
2. The series is based around 1 year (8+1 = 9 going on 10)
3. After Final Act 3 more years pass (so 9+3 = 12 going on 13).
12-13 being the legal age of arranged marriages. That makes her a young woman. If he didn't want her in his life all he had to do was abandon her at the village. Neither are rushing to take their relationship to the next level, step by step.
@theart1rm i can agree with you on that. it is the feudal era after all so young brides were not a big thing and then there is the thing with him being a demon i highly doubt age matters to him. the relationship will probably need to be taken slow but i can definintly see them connecting on a romantic level in the future. after everything they have been thorugh they deserve a shot at it

Kagome's brother grow into a young man, but Rin doesn't show any signs of growth either in height or puberty. That's not possible. Normal kids grow. She had time to crush on Kohaku, but didn't, Sess had opp. to ditch her but didn't.

After quite a few years, they meet, fall in love, and have InuYasha, resulting in InuTashio's death. So I don't see how it would be bad for Rin and Sesshomaru to be together, if his dad and Izayoi can.

Right now it seems she sees him as a father/protector, not a lover.
It's not so much the age difference. They just don't seem like they're in love to me.

But in time, as Rin continues to be in Sesshomaru's life, his protective feelings over her will slowly develop to much greater feelings for her. Also, I don't really see who else could be with Sesshomaru. Both Sara and Kagura are dead, and he didn't really love them, he just respected them.

I think the point of Sess/Rin is to show a relationship that's *not* romantic. There's plenty of that in Inuyasha already. It's obviously supposed to be a paternal/fraternal relationship. I really don't understand why people want Sesshomaru to be an incestuous pedophile.

Once again, I do believe I he loves her more so than any other human, and that she broke though his cold shell and taught him compassion, but why do you believe it's romantic love behind this change, he has never said he romantically loved her or made any other romantic advances towards her. Though her he turned from being a cold misanthrope to a compassionate person who cares about humans by caring about one as a FATHER.

That heartbeat when he took her in his arms sealed both their fates forever. She was the first, the only human Sesshomaru had ever touched. Their is no going into his family tree, the royalty of his class. What choices he may/would have had as the Lord of his Domain. The S/R relationship get more involved, tighter in the Final Act of which this is only a few episodes into so I won't throw any spoilers out their that would upset first time viewers. Fanfiction has many twisted storelines for S/R.

Growth between these two characters was obviously meant for them to come together. 1st the circumstances of how they meet. Her actions. He respected, but was perplexed by her courage & lack of fear, when all others trembled. 2nd we have her death & his reaction, 3rd we have Tensaga's desire (thus his father's desire) to raise her from the dead, that heartbeat. 4th frorm the 3rd his father hopes he would learn humility, compassion for others, understand what it means to have someone to protect.

@ItachiUchihalover23 I have to disagree with that. He loves her but hasn't come to terms with that love. He still doesn't understand it. He admires her, respects her courage, her determination, her bravery. Sometimes Rin seems childish, sometimes quite grownup. For a long time he considered her as someone he should protect, something his father wanted him to learn. He doesn't have many options for a wife. She would have to have all the things Rin has. He will wait for her to mature into a woman.

And has anyone really looked at the two of them in the anime; she down rightly fits her age age as a small child, and in real life such notions delve into pedophilia, and then there's the good old Westermarck Effect; if anyone has lived with another since birth they naturally get turned off of each-other-

@MrEmadshalabi explaining why no normal people want to get with one of their parents or siblings; so even if the thought of a mature male grooming a child for purpose of a mate ISN'T morally sicking whether as joke or in serious context; gradually, even if Sesshomaru deep down did have the purpose in mind for her, which is highly debatable in an anime and manga for young adolescents at most, the lust would have died down with them and that parental instinct would have overshadowed perversion.

@MrEmadshalabi Yet you forget that Rin is no ordinary child. It's debatable whether she is still actually a child. She died twice, time flows differently in dimensions. They love each other for sure. She stole his heart when he rivived her. When he took her in his arms he was stunned by the effect her heart beat had on him. She is the only human Sesshomaru has actually touched. His father through Tensaga desired he bring her back to life & he ultimately learned compassion & how to love from her.

@theart1rm Well, in either of the dimensions, if she is an adult or even a mature teen, does she really look or act like it? In the anime Sesshomaru could have easily stepped on the small girl by raising his leg a few inches and then pressing down, she speaks in third person, frolics around like a kid, has the face of a kid, and likely the mentality and physical and biological age of a child, so even if time flow is different it doesn't seem to be significant.

@MrEmadshalabi He knows she is still childlike in many ways. But the only woman to be worthy of his love, now that he has discovered how to actually feel compassion for another being. The key to the whole S/R love relationship start when they first meet. She showed no fear, tried to help him, stubbornly refused to stop trying to help him, got beatup for him. Those are all things Sesshomaru highly admires & respects in any being, so he would want those things from a wife. Just saying.

I would support RinXSesshomaru if she was one or at least a year from becoming one; meeting his physical appearance and maturity at least as with Inuyasha and Kagome, but she's prepubescent, she looks it and she is it, what would you feel towards a grown man in real life who you thought harbored feelings of a romantic or sexual nature to her, would it be noble or sweet, or a criminal offense punishable by law that you found sick?

After the final showdown, he leaves her to stay at the village so she can live amoungst human & make up her own mind about whether or not she wishes to be with him or stay with humans. 3 years pass (which put's her in the young woman category). He stops in to see her. She likes being at the village, but she desires to be with Sesshomaru more.

@CrimsonOkami At the end of the anime she is on the verge of womanhood. My calculation is:
1. She's 8 when they meet. (8 going on 9)
2. The series is based around 1 year (8+1 = 9 going on 10)
3. After Final Act 3 more years pass (so 9+3 = 12 going on 13).
12-13 being the legal age of arranged marriages. That makes her a young woman. If he didn't want her in his life all he had to do was abandon her at the village. Neither are rushing to take their relationship to the next level, step by step.

@theart1rm i can agree with you on that. it is the feudal era after all so young brides were not a big thing and then there is the thing with him being a demon i highly doubt age matters to him. the relationship will probably need to be taken slow but i can definintly see them connecting on a romantic level in the future. after everything they have been thorugh they deserve a shot at it

Kagome's brother grow into a young man, but Rin doesn't show any signs of growth either in height or puberty. That's not possible. Normal kids grow. So did that mean that Rin had changed physically because of her travel btw. dimensions & possibly become part demon? She had time to crush on Kohaku, but didn't, Sess had opp. to ditch her but didn't.

Poor guy doesn't stand a chance against Rins showers of love & affection. Sesshomaru could have left Rin in the village, told her she should stay with humans & get married, have kids, but he didn't. He let it be her choice cause he cares

He sees the woman she will become, the woman he would want to be by his side. They both know their lifespans are very different. He's not in a hurry or rushing things. Was he just doing what him father wanted him to do - protect her, in the hopies it would help him understand his father better & why he fell in love with a human woman. In Demon terms he is still quite young. So along comes Rin how she treats him & perhaps his father initally was returning the favor, because she looked over him when he was down.
