The weirdest part to me about being bipolar is that I wish I felt like I felt during my manic episodes all the time. It's wonderful. I was 100x more confident, ambitious, happy, etc.. but it was a facade and far too ridiculous for words...
@IAMLEGEND2545 Honestly meds and prayer. I took lithium for a while, but I switched to Lamictal which worked better for me and didn't make me shake as much. Also, Effexor as an anti-depressant. But my prayer life got stronger and that helped (I don't know how religious you are). Also, my family helped me. My mother (RIP), brother and grandmother were all very supportive. Most of all (how ever corny as it may sound) you've gotta make the decision that you want to be better.
@IAMLEGEND2545 Another thing that helped is a dumb little game I play. If I feel myself revving up, I just ask myself, what would I be thinking was happening if I was manic? This kind of keeps me rooted in reality because I'm aware that anything out of the ordinary is fake. I hope this helps. Ask me anything...
i experience all of the above..but i dont think i have a disorder ..what if i just have a very active mind ..why would you classify people as to who is sane and who is not
Do not be discouraged if there's no noticable improvements. Your role is to just be there, not fix them. It takes a strong, good hearted person to help a depressed person. It's not easy, but your depressed friend will never forget you for being there for them when everyone else abandoned them. They will hold a special place in their heart for you FOREVER.
I don't know much about it,.But I have weeks of joyfulness and thoughts of being a child of God and being able to make films like I want to.Then the next week I am weary and having feelings of damnation and being stupid. Now it happens everyday with opposite feelings happening all day.I'm up down in the middle. the only thing I want to do is take something sharp ram it into my brain, but can't because God wouldn't want that.I can't turn to professionals or meds says so in scripture.
I have bi polar and it sounds likely as you are showing the symptoms,i have been fine without medication but the lows can be unbearable or just subtly eroding our quality of life so a stabilising medication is important to get perspective as each polar episode is like being someone else ,it is false so please see your local mental health professional and please take care
The question I have is, what is the actual difference between type 1 & type 2 bipolar condition? Is it just a subtle difference regarding how fast one cycles through their highs & lows?
Generally, the differnce is the level of mania and the level of depression . Bipolar 1 has higher level of extremes ( sometimes psychosis/delusions ), bipolar 2 has a lower level of extremes. Actually b.p. 2 is characterized as a patient with hypomania (which is like a mini manic episode).
We can also thank the DSM for Bipolar NOS...or Not Otherwise Specified, as well as Cyclothymia which is bipolar in a more depressed state.
He then left me becuase of my mood swings(hypomania I think?) that I was also having at the time, but I didn't really notice them till now looking back on it. Anyways with him leaving me it put me in a more depressed state (slightly pathetic I know), anyways its 2 years on from then now and I have consistant suisidal thoughts all through the day. I made one attempt about a month ish ago, but someone walked in and stoped me taking all the pills,
If this is what bipolar is like I must of had it for years, I think I used to see someone when I was a kid for my mood swings and stuff, but they said it was all normal, like I'd get really angry and hit my head off a wall till I nearly knocked myself out and I'd half kill kids I'd fight with. I never did no work at school eather (this was all from when I was about 5). Then afew years later I planned to commit suiside then I met my bf, but while I was with him I developed a eating disorder.
You can find a cure in the best schools. I have had success with encampment captures with Hector in my published lists. $2 Million tester is bogus with Chris Dodd numbered prisoner. If you ask me I'll be your friend for 60 months
also, depression only use to happen once a month, now it all happens several times a day, and at night it is the worst. i wake up with tons of energy, laughing for no reason, driving / speeding around, dancing, walking in circles and then slowly i get depressed by the end of the day and i cant help but cry constantly and lock myself in a room ignoring everything, and thinking about suicide, can't sleep, eat, or fuking do anything anymore, this is insane i feel like i'm in a dream
you need to get help. i'm serious. this is not normal what you are going through. if you need someone to talk to about this then please email me and i will be more than willing to help. it sounds like you have depression or another mental illness. please email me if you need help.
this depression is getting deep and sneaking up on me again... i just realized a couple of weeks ago that it's not normal to think about suicide 100 times a day or to plan out your own suicide in your own thoughts.... or is it? Is everyone suicidal and just not mentioning it? i am so confused. i have been depressed / manic for yrs, but only a yr ago been aware or able to accept it. i am going back to denial again because i am scared.
Thinking of a being with a Bipolar??Count on: Lying/exaggerating Recklessness re home,work,driving,money Drug,tobacco,alcohol abuse Irrational,unpredictable conduct+rants Breathtaking hypocrisy No remorse/conscience,no "Sorry" Endless insults+demands Crazy destructive moods,habits,sleep patterns Violence;verbal abuse Immorality/cheating/lawsuits Boasting/grandiosity Denial: to them,you're the nut! They're perfect;always right & never learn Paranoia,unending complaints about everyone Pain,grief.
Mild to moderate level of mania?!!! that's just feeling good! Don't believe the person if they say they are feeling good?!!! Now we can't rust our own feelings? Family members should decide for us if we're REALLY feeling good or if we're actually manic. This is so much shit. I can't believe it.
i was asking because of a video thats on here of a girl on a train haveing a bipolar episode i googled the sympomes and it seem to me more like schizophrenia..i will send you the video
They said I don't have schizophrenia, and then only drugs I take are Prozac and a mood stabilizer for my bipolar. But I also have hallucinations for absolutely "no reason" and no one knows why.
Both visual and auditory. Usually bloody... like blood running down the walls and on the ceiling, and people I don't know who look dead. For voices, it's people calling my name and screaming.
They choose to ignore it and say that it's my imagination, otherwise I would be in a mental institution right now. But I don't understand why they don't take it seriously when I've been in the psych ward three times already.
yes yes yep... why do you think so? I think I don't have an opinion now but I am very Hyppppperrrrrr and Teaparty has an excellent point but repeatss herselff tooo much......
so what's so bad about Bi Polar Bears? hee hee I give nicknames for everyone...
Try the ten positive thing list (i could do it -so can you) --that also works for me. If you must repeat it to yourself 1000X Ok --you deserve it --your getting flooded with bad ideas about yourself --work on it.
DRAGGON1999:Just remember that you will feel good sometimes too!I do this.Dr. Frankel always spoke about:Think of one reason you want to live-just one.Even if it is wanting to look at the newspaper or a child or soething you love. What do you love? Live for yourself and that.He said most people have at least one thing.Think about what it is you want to live with. And hey-I bet your a hell of a good guy!Write down ten positive things about yourself and read it back to yourself until smile!
DRAGGON1999 --just remember --it is not ALL inside of you. The world is not perfect. SOME of depression maycome from situations--some --others are from you. Work on the things you can change. This might sound strange and not heard much but WE tend to care about things TOO much -things that should not get much thought. Try not to care too much about others or whatthey think. It's not an easy task to support the depressed. The person must commit to months of support. Depression doesn't go away with a
couple pep talks and funny movies. If you want to help a depressed person, make sure you're in it for the long hull.
Research the illness and accept the fact that you cant heal them, but you can soften the pain.

In two words.
There is also a very interesting type, called schizoaffective disorder.Mix.
kiril1 3 years ago
that doesnt answer my question..
whats the difference between Bipolar and schizophrenia?
tweetie35 3 years ago
In BI you have problems with your mood-mania-depressia and what is between them.
In SCHI you have strange thoughts, the defect is more on the way of thinking than on the mood. The mood here is apathic/non emotional.
People who have schizophrenia for many years, will develop personal defects, what you hardly can say about the case with Bipolar.
Of course this is very general.
And,in BI you almost have no hallucinations.
Got it?
And check on the web-much more information you'll find.
