This will be really useful for my friends who haven't taken trig and were placed into pre-cal. Our pre-cal teacher sucks and I feel bad for the kids who didn't get a great trig teacher like I did. I know all this stuff and my teacher is just confusing everyone lol. I'll most likely show this to my peers and hopefully it will be more useful than my stupid teacher. Thanks!
@kellykedavra If you are referring to the examples similar to say finding the arccos(1/2) to get pi/3, then it is expected that you are already familiar with the unit circle and the fact that cos(pi/3)=1/2. Otherwise, yes, it looks like the numbers just magically appear without any explanation. See my videos "Trigonometric Function Values of Special Angles" and "Reference Angles".
HOLY CRAP, do you realize how much TIME i spent trying to figure this one out ???
I kept thinking that the angle (Arccos(1/4)) HAD to be found out in order to determine the value of Sin at that angle. But it turns out that you never actually find out the value of the angle (Arccos(1/4)) just the VALUE of Sin at that same angle.

it is because of you I got an A in the beginning of my college pre cal class,I cannot understand anyone else on this internet or in school, you are my savior. I wish you also taught economics because I am doing so bad in it right now!!
I'm pretty sure this just saved my life..... thank you... so much. I thought I was going to go completely insane before I could figure this out.... my professor did NOT do a good job explaining this.... I might actually be able to get this stuff right.... THANK YOU!
This is an excellent video about telling many useful things about Inverse functions of trigonometry.
As of the weekend of Oct. 23-24, 2010, I am doing homework I'm behind, which is about this type of math. My math class teaches this kind of math and gave out this kind of homework one month ago that I am doing right now.
someone help me understand why the sin and tangent is never in quadrant 4. TT.TT

Where does the square root of 15 come from??
matt62591 5 months ago
@matt62591 he used pythagorean theorem 1+x^2=16 => x^2=15 => x=sqt15

for the examples I don't get how you got the answers.. you seem to just tell us the answer and move on without any explanation! :(
