  • One of the better fan versions I have come across.

  • Any chance you know where to find the sheet music for this?

  • Nope. If you look up "Serenity Joss Whedon tabs" or the same thing with "chords" in place of "tabs" - you should find some workable material.

  • very cool :)

  • It's a new take on it but I like it. Shiny

  • Shiny! You have a beautiful voice.

  • Shiny! Though the camera kept going back and forth, don't know if it was supposed to do that or not, it's a bit distracting. Very nice song though.

  • its the auto focus

  • Wonderful thank you

  • Gorramit shiny! :)

  • You need to turn off your camera's autofocus. Sounds nice but the constant in/out focus shift is literally nauseating.

  • That was very good! You need to refine that and submit it to Joss!

  • Wow, you have an amazing voice. Great version of the song. Best one i have found so far on youtube. Wonderful job!!!

  • This is gorram shiny!

  • Glad you liked it! Thanks!

  • Wow. This is so...SHINY. You've totally just made my favorites.

  • Thank you thank you!

  • Wow. Love it. Reminds me of the Coheed covers on piano that Melissa Foye does. A wonderful stylistic change.

  • Holy flattering compliment Batman!

    Thank you!

  • that was really amazing, I love the piano, that really works.

    CANT STOP THE SIGNAL

  • Shiny! Could you possibly send me the piano music? thanks

  • Sorry, I'm playing off of guitar chords. I never play music as written. If I figure out how to make LogicExpress work, I'll play it on my keyboard into Logic & see if I can make you a copy. It'll be at least 6 months before I have the time, though.

  • Actually I found guitar chords on the internet and am going to learn it (on piano) when I have more time...:)

  • Thats not good, thats not great that... whats the word... Okay I don't think their is a word the proberly gives credit to how exellent this is. Times like this I wish my piano teacher hadn't moved so I could learn how to play the gorram thing

  • Thank you for the wonderful review! I'll be honest with you - I did learn quite a bit from formal music study, but my most used bits of knowledge came from trial & error with a guitar. Once you figure out how chords differ between piano & guitar, it becomes fairly easy to read the chords written for guitar & adapt them to piano. "I" chords are a good friend to the improvising pianist. Good luck to you!

  • I... um... kinda sold it. Since I could'nt really learn it I thougt it be better if someone else could.

  • During the first little second I thought "meh" but then I was completely moved! This was truly a wonderful cover of such a great song. It also bears much resemblance to David Newman's soundtrack to Serenity. Yeah, as I said, it was absolutely great! Now, would you consider marrying me?

  • Aww - very sweet, thank you. Sadly, I'm not sure how my husband would take another marriage. Particularly since I tend to claim my best friends as my "wife & mistress". If the situation changes, I'll let you know.

  • I like it. It feels more... introspective, I guess... which fits nicely having just watched "Serenity."

    In a word: Shiny!

  • Thank you. My goal has always been to do justice to any song that I cover by playing it the way I hear it in my head after listening to it rather than the way the original artist played it.

I figure, if you were wanting to hear the original, you could. Right?

I've just had a breakthrough - this is likely the reason why I never play anything the way it is written, despite a few years of training as a classical pianist.

  • I often don't like covers, but this is too beautiful. You just might replace the original song in my memory. Thx.

  • Oh my! Thank you! I'm honored!

  • Wonderful... you have a fantastic voice for this song... :)

    Beautiful!

    *favorites and rates 5/5*

  • Thank you so much!

  • :D No problem. I tried to record myself singing this, but it doesn't sound QUITE as good over the voices of the original singers. :P Actually- my voice never sounded real good at all. soo that wasn't helping too much. x)

  • The piano was nice...still a sad requiem.

  • Nice arrangement, lovely (bright!) sounding piano and the singing wasn't bad either!

  • Thanks! That's particularly flattering due to how raw my throat was that night. It was one of the last songs I recorded & I was exhausted. I write all of my arrangements off of guitar chords (if not specifically the tabs). It allows for more freedom of interpretation. Glad you liked it!

  • plz tell me were u got the sheet music plzplz u are awsome at singing and piano nice 1

  • Thank you - Sorry, though. I don't have sheet music per se. It's easy to find guitar tabs online & I play piano off of tabs for most songs that I'm familiar with. The chord progression is really simple. Good luck!
