  • I just bought the 870 and tried to install this stock. Sizing the stock and the receiver together, the stock was 1/16" smaller on both sides and a little more on the top edge. Yours looks like it fits perfectly flush all around. Have you heard of this happening? The label says it fits Rem 870.

  • @ailimedurante Not sure what is going on with yours. Mine fit perfectly, as have all of the stocks I have seen installed. It is possible you got a mislabeled stock. Call Blackhawk and ask them directly. Those guys are top notch and will help you to make things right.

  • Do you have a video of installation on Mossberg 500?

  • @zheka1780 Not yet. I Recently picked up a used 500 and may get a Blackhawk stock to go on it.

  • I just wanted to say thank you for making this video. Very easy to understand, and makes an easy stock change even simpler. Thanks!

  • awesome video, i just received my blackhawk spec ops stock in the mail yesterday and installed it on, i also had purchased the tactical cheek plate which works well with comfort, and it comes with two optional low or high cheek plates if you have optics on it or not. well time for part b!

  • mine would not screw right in like that. it went in 4 threads and stopped. what am i doing wrong???

  • @bpriley77 I'm not sure what you may be doing wrong. Try moving the bolt around slightly to ensure it isn't trying to cross thread on you. Do you have any spacers between the stock and the receiver?

  • is it the same process with the full stock???

  • @nightshade288 The stock with the more traditional look should also install very easily. I did not have one to test, but there is only one bolt to connect it to the receiver, so how hard could it be, right?

  • is this the stock that has the recoil reducer in the tube as well as the grip? I saw one like it on a video by nutnfancy at the SHOT show.

  • @ThaBR33D There are two recoil reducers - one in the grip, the second straight back. The grip portion does about 70% of the reduction, with the rear portion doing the other 30% of the work. This is why the pistol grip (only) stock reduces felt recoil so much.
